Brand New Day

Lyrics by Van Morrison. Photos by me. Colours by Mother Nature. Please remember to click on each image to enlarge.

When all the dark clouds roll away

And the sun begins to shine

I see my freedom from across the way

And it comes right in on time

Well it shines so bright and it gives so much light

And it comes from the sky above

Makes me feel so free, makes me feel like me

And lights my life with love

And it seems like and it feels like

And it seems like yes it feels like

A brand new day, yeah

A brand new day.

Win/win.

I think you need to ask Ontario officials for a contract - so you can be compensated as Ontario’s number one promoter. Expect newbies to start rolling into you area. We have Silvia in our area doing the same thing, as if Seattle needs any more people clogging up the highways. Ha!
Your pictures make Ontario look extraordinarily inviting.

Beautiful! Glad to see Mother Nature is smiling on somebody.
Van Morrison is so very unique...I love his "These Are the Days."
I had to laugh out loud at the comment you left on my Mother Nature post. Hilarious! Thanks!

Hilary,

Some words are wasted,
and just don't belong.
While others are magical,
whether in rhyme or in song.
Pictures, worthy of a 1000 words,
a thousand words at best.
Combined with your creative touch,
puts you heads up above the rest!

Magical Hilary. Loved it all.

I like the saddowed slat picture. It looks like a prison or something.

The only Can Morrision song I ever knew was the brown eyed girl one before this.

ds said...

Oh, glorious! Every time I thought I had a favorite shot, a better one came along...and you matched the lyrics perfectly (now if only I knew the tune; Like Tom before me, I know only "Brown Eyed Girl" which is my shame). Will have to find this song. Many many thanks for this!

These downy friends, they sure are birds
They come in flocks, they honk their words
When some fly off, their sound increases
Exclaiming "Honk if you love geeses!"

Thanks for the kind words, Wendy. ;)

• Thanks very much, DS. Van Morrison had, and continues to have many great songs, thougt Brown-eyed Girl was the one that was played everywhere. Of course, so was Moondance - you must know that one too. :) Thanks for the link. I'm a regular reader of Louise's blog, but I'll take note of that one as a recommendation from you. Thanks kindly. :)

Fall is so beautiful! Your pictures make me want to go out and get some of my own. All I have to do is step out of my door. :) I may do that tomorrow! Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Hilary... you may have wondered about my lack of blogging and commenting recently... or then again, maybe not... I've had some computer meltdowns, but I seem to be back to normal now. Your fall pictures are beautiful, and perfectly illustrate the song lyrics, gorgeous! And I was moved by your tribute to your childhood buddy Evan. He seems to have made quite an impression on all his friends and workmates at the radio station. What a loss to his family, his sons, and to everyone who loves him.

Nancy said...

Beautiful pics and the words were meant to tag along.

Hilary said...

• Thanks, KC. :)

• Thanks so much, Indrani. That's a fine compliment. :)

• Thank you, LadyFi. I'm glad you do. :)

• Thanks, Ellen. I'm glad you're back on high speed and I'm sorry that my photos load so slowly on dial up. I'm just glad you get here when you can. Thanks for that. :)

• Always happy to see you back here, Sandy. :)

• Thank you, Anita. I hope you do go out and snap some shots. I'm glad that I could inspire you to do so. I hope you'll share them soon. :)

• Welcome back, Shammie. I did wonder about your absence but I try not to worry until someone is gone for TOO long. I'm glad your computer woes are resolved. Thanks so much for your very kind words about my post about Evan and my photos. You sure know how to make me smile. Thanks for that. :)

• Thanks very much, Nancy. Much appreciated. :)
