cat-tails,
soft winds and roses
Rainbows in the woodland, water to my knees
Shivering, quivering, the warm breath of spring
Pussywillows, cat-tails, soft winds and roses.
Lyrics by Gordon Lightfoot. Images by Mother Nature.
My blog-reading and commenting is still sporadic at best these days. I hope to catch up and get back to regular visits soon.

I wish all of those things were covered in snow around here!
Hurray for the explosion of beauty that is spring!

Oops - here's the link to the dandelion photos!
A grand springy post. I particularly enjoyed the first and last images.
Such wonderful spring photos! I adore spring, the colourful blossoms, the daffodils, its all so colourful
Your viewfinder catches so well this slow Spring showing us it's true beauty, what a treat :-)
Lovely shots!
Our pussy willow has already sprouted, bloomed, and passed. Of course, right when the catkins were ripe it rained like hell... oh, weather.
; )
OK, so that last picture is a milkweed pod? I have never seen one before. How beautiful! God makes some cool things. :-)
Beautiful images of spring! You are such a talented photographer. Those cat-tails need a redwing blackbird perched on them.
Beautiful set, I love the tulips and the branches with buds.
Beautiful!! Love the pussy willows and the tulips. Gorgeous!! Great shots Hillary!! Well done!
Hugs
SueAnn
great pics hilary...love the cattails...we used to do great battle with them....
Early spring up your way I see, I love the milkweed. I actually 'stole' some seeds on a recent hike, but forgot where I put them. I will probably find them in a coat pocket this winter.
Oh! I love these pictures, as always, but that last one is so... perfectly expressing the emergence of spring. Thank you.
Beautiful.
I love those close-ups, amazing again, Hilary!
Even though it is storming outside, these pictures make it feel like spring.Thanks.
Very much like spring.
Loved the fence with the water behind it.
Also the bullrushes.
Looks like Spring is springing.

I hope you are well, Hilary. I've been pretty unplugged myself this past while.
How very very beautiful.. Natures finest for sure. I love the pussy willows. The creek and wow I want so back to get out. My nose is healing and maybe this week I can get out once again.
Hilary thanks for stopping.
Have a lovely rest of the day / night
Beautiful pics that just make me smile and be glad for the Spring that has finally sprung!
Lovely images, as usual! Can such loveliness ever be usual? I am particularly smitten with the last one's gorgeously contrasting textures of rough and soft. And thanks for the reminder of that great old Gord tune! Hadn't thought of it in years.
Pics looks pretty ..Great work !!

Absolutely lovely! Truly love the pussywillow, the lighting, and the feeling of spring these shots give me!
Pussy willows are beautiful, but don't get them near me, i'm allergic. They make me quit breathing!
How do you do what you do? Every photo is MAGNIFICENT!!
Great photos to go along with a great song!
My dear Hilary, what a beautiful post and set of photographs to return to...
Our spring has taken a giant leap forward and April almost became May, after record breaking heat and sun wave of the last 14 days. Here everything is already green and it feels like we are a month ahead.
Hope all is well at your end, it is good to be back;) Thank you for all your love and care, means a lot..
xoxo
Nice photos Hilary. Enjoy your time away from blogging - you deserve it! - Dave
Ahhhhhhhhhh, I love falling into your photographs. Enjoy your break, real life calls, eh?
Very lovely.
That pussywillow shot is stunning. Just in case Sully doesn't stop by, I'll say it for him: "You should publish your photos. People would pay to see them."
I think I may have told you before my Nana was fond of milkweed and pussy willows? Also bittersweet... often to be found in her floral arrangements, which, later in life, were made to explicit instruction by me.
Yep, spring is springing here too. And, while you've provided your own background music, perhaps you might also listen to Andy Summers & Robert Fripp playing Girl On A Swing. I think there's something there, too.
Are you sure the roses aren't tulips? Just asking.
The last shot looks like it might have been an extra in either Invasion of the Body Snatchers or Day of the Triffids ..

Hooray for spring!
Well, that was a pleasant little soujourn through a warm, spring day. We haven't had enough of them this year. Thanks. :)
Pussy willows and cat tails are a couple of the thing sI miss now that I live in So. California. I sued to love to fill vases with them when I lived in Ohio and New York so your photos really made me smile. Thanks,

Love that last shot... reminded me of the plant in "Little Shop of Horrors" :-)
Spring unfolds in her own provocative way! These are wonderful images.
so up close and beautiful!!
Beautiful.
I am enjoying the soft wind of Spring little too thoroughly, we need RAIN! Huh?
I think Spring really is HERE... at least I so hope it is!!
Spectacular shots, all of them! I am blown away by the last one. Outstanding!
Magnificent magical earthly delights! Thank you for sharing all of this beauty through your unique lens!
Thank you everyone for your kind words. I can't express how much I appreciate your visits and comments. I'm still kind of off-schedule when it comes to my blog visits and individual responses to your comments. Thank you for understanding.
Lady Fi, I will include that post as your recommendation in Wednesday's POTW. Thank you.
AC, yes.. they're tulips. I'm pleading poetic license.
Thanks for that song, Cricket.
And welcome to my new visitors. I'll pop by your blogs shortly.

Glad to see spring is coming your way! I've been sporadic on my reading, too. Must be the season!!
