Black-eyed Susan and Posts of the Week

The brilliant days of summer are winding down but we still have at least one, and hopefully more cottage visits in our near future. These Black-eyed Susan were in full bloom a couple of weeks back. They scream late summer, don't they? Sigh!

Posting will still be erratic and light but I'll be doing the POTW when I can. This happened to be one of the weeks which worked out for me so without further delay, here are the Posts of the Week

The flowers are beautiful.... but I think there is a feeling of the end of the summer when they come out into flower and I'm not ready for it!

Dear Hilary, I never knew the name of this flower until now, how delightful that it bears a name similar to mine.;)
Thank you so much for the nomination; you know it never cease to surprise me what kind of posts appeal to others, but I am so happy this one fell into your liking.
I know many of the others mentioned and they are wonderful pieces of writing indeed...
I hope you will have a lovely almost first week of fall...

Yes, the flowers are gorgeous, yet I tend to agree with Maggie May, I so wish we could squeeze an extra couple of months into each summer!

Gorgeous flowers Hilary! Yes they do herald the end of summer and it makes me sad. I have so been enjoying it. Now comes beautiful rich fall...with all the colors of a rainbow filtered by a glorious sun!
Ahhh! Fall!!!
I will visit my friends in a little while to re-enjoy their posts.
Hugs and thanks

Thanks so much for the mention Hilary, I so appreciate it.

Yes, our black eyed susans are blooming away still but I know in a few days, they'll breath their last until next summer. Sam Champion of GMA is now situated on Atlantic Beach NC where he'll probanbly stay until Earl decides what he's going to do. The petals of the Susans along the coast will surely get blown away!

I love black eyed susans but they are the first summer bloomers here starting up just when the spring blooms fade.

First of all this photo of these black eyed susans is beautiful.

Secondly, thank you for this honor of post of the week. You really are too sweet. It was really hard to write this post but I am thankful I did. The support from around blogland has been a blessing to both my daughter and I. Thank you again Hilary.

I hope you and yours are enjoying these last days of summer time. XX

The flowers are just breathtakingly beautiful. Take it from a chick who knows her flowers.

I'm just not ready for summer to end. I've battled shingles since Memorial day and just feel summer has pass me by this year.

God bless ya and have the best extraordinary day!!!

Woohoo! A POTW Award from Hilary! I am SO honoured.
Thank you for the nomination, Hilary. I am in good company with all those other distinguished bloggers.
Good to know you are enjoying the last days of summer at the cottage. But it sure is HOT today! Wonder if it's as hot where you are?

Now, now, let the season linger on, through September, October, even November. Until that cottage is snow-bound and roads become unpassable, let it beckon you to find your way there, to dream on and linger in its beauty.

Black-eyed Susans are such a happy flower to me, maybe because they look like a little bit of sunshine in the garden.

Such a pleasant surprise to find a post by you and a POTW mention for me! Thank you!

I was out in the yard with my camera yesterday and was surprised to find no black-eyed susans growing along the edge of the woods yet. Apparently Tennessee hasn't yet given into the notion that summer is almost gone.

I'm still a bit under the weather and spending a lot of time on a necessary project, so I'm waaaay behind on my visiting, but I'll be sure to visit these winners asap. Some great friends and newcomers on your list!

Excellent list. Some of them I've even already read. I'll check out the others.

Thanks, Hilary!

Cheers, jj

Thank you, everyone who left such kind and supportive commments to me and to the selected bloggers. My own blogging schedule is still here and there for now, so I very much appreciate your continued remarks. You folks are the best!

As for anon, I would have gladly checked out your link if you were not so incredibly rude about suggesting it, if you had the spine to post as yourself and if you had actually linked to an individual post and not a full blog. I read and select posts from the finest bloggers out here. Feel free to moan elsewhere.
