Dangly Squirrel and Posts of the Week

This little guy worked very hard to get at the last bits of suet on this sunny, but cold morning. This was taken from a friend's house, through the two panes of glass of her upstairs window, one yard over. He spent such a long time at the feeder just begging me to go get my camera - so of course I did.

After he worked the last bit of suet from the cage, he relaxed atop a nearby fence post to finish it off. He earned that treat.

That little squirrel certainly earned that last crumb. I have never seen one hanging on just by the tail before.
Excellent shot.

So, Hilary, were these pictures taken from CITH's window? :)

I don't think I'd ever realized that squirrels could hang just from their tails. These are beautiful captures.

Thank you so much for the POTW mention. "Thank you" doesn't seem like enough, but it's all I've got.

The squirrels here have also discovered the wonders of suet. I'm going through a brick every 3-4 days now and have been trying various strategies to outwit the beasts.

Thus far, they have outfoxed me. But I'm not giving up.

Love the squirrel photos, especially the dangly one! We have a squirrel that drives Bonzi absolutely crazy. When Bonzi comes inside, he chases all the birds off the feeders and has himself a feast.
