Winter Leaves and Post of the Week

A few dried maple leaves remain despite the icy cold weather. This small branch of withered foliage caught my eye the other day. The frozen pond can be seen in the background.

Please come back tomorrow when I'll post a few images from yesterday's lunar eclipse.

I keep wondering if you have ever posted a blog explaining how you came to embrace the camera with so much heart! Wonderful photos here, always Hilary!

It IS a beautiful image, Hilary, but it looks oh so cold. I'm so looking forward to your lunar eclipse images. It was too cloudy here for us to see it.

Thanks so much for the POTW mention. I'm off to read all of the others. A good laugh can go a long way toward relieving the holiday stress that many feel at this season.

It's peaceful in that winter way I think.

Hope I get a chance to read these POTW... things are pretty hectic here.

Awww - thanks, Hilary!

If I had known you would give me a POTW for my silly poem, I would have worked a lot harder at it! (and it would probably still be just as bad!)

Good eye. I would seldom see the opportunities that you do.

Funny how that single leaf catches our eye when over a month ago we wondered how to get them all raked. I found a few yesterday. and have one tree with some still on that almost sounds like a chatter in the cold.

A great selection as usual Hilary. Thanks so much...xxx

Thanks for the POTW, Hilary. I'm glad it's not a Post of the Year, otherwise you would have awarded me a POTY. nick

Thank you, everyone for such lovely and kind comments, and for taking the time during this very busy season to go visit those whose posts were named. And a warm welcome to new faces. I hope you'll return often.

Your photo of the winter leaves is really pretty. We have some leaves like that here and some of the largest leaves I have ever seen. You did a nice job capturing the still lovely autumn color of the leaves.
Are you celebrating Christmas? I hope you have a wonderful holiday and I want to thank you for sharing the most amazing photos on your blog this year. Your photos brought so much joy to this old hippie heart. Hugs.
