Another scheduled mini-post coming to you while we're still away.
On one of our previous visits up to the cottage, I noticed these colours dancing on the water by the dock. The deep green mirrors nearby trees and grass. The turquoise is a reflection from the underside of a paddle boat - shore bound and on its side. Small things amuse me.
Big things amuse me too - like this large expanse of water, sky and disappearing sunlight. Sunset at the cottage is just magical.
Back in a few days with another scheduled post.

that top picture looks like a painting.
Both pictures are great. The bottom one reminded me of coming off the lake at night from a day of fishing. IThere was a second when the smell of the lake came to my senses while view all the colors and reflections in the picture. Good job!
That top picture looks like it has been altered.... but I think, like me, you don't do that. It is fascinating to think those colours are natural.
That bottom photo looks very tranquil as the sun goes down.

the textures ont eh water are wonderful and the last is like a sigh at the end of the day. have fun hilary!
I also took some 'water color' pictures the other day. With fall the sun angles are more golden and the colors more interesting.
Always a treat in here;)
the ripples could be a painting!
At first I thought the ripples coloring was due to oil .. shudder .. hope you are having a fabulous time and cannot wait to see the photos.
I love the reflections, the turquoise is so brilliant.
The blue reflection is brilliant.
Enjoy your vacation; we're happy with just pictures.
That is one of the things I like about you that small things amuse you. Good for you.
While I love both pictures, the first one is absolutely gorgeous! The water looks surreal.
As I love sunsets, the second picture evokes more memories for me.
Your photography is pretty amazing:~)
Reminds me of sitting on the dock watching the water when we were on vacation. Thank you, I needed a mini getaway.
Hilary, you captured such movement in that first picture. Hope you're having a great time.
Very vibrant reflections here.
That water is so beautiful. I swear I hear it lapping against the dock. Very beautiful shots. I hope you are enjoying your time away.
nature's paintbrush and your camera = our delight
You have such a great eye for seeing things around you that no one else would take note of. Makes for some great photos!

I love the playful turquoise on black in your first picture. It looks like a watercolor painting.
Two fabulous pictures. Love the turquoise reflections in the first shot.
Yes, I do agree, that first photograph is excellent, very painterly.
holy moly, incredibly beautiful!
You have such a good eye at seeing art in small things. I love the reflections. It should be framed.
I love both pictures. The colors on the water are amazing, and the sunset just goes without saying. Reminds me I have pics to download.
Oh, and thanks for the visit. :)
Too beautiful to pick my fav of the two!
Oh, the colors on that water! I love both of these--but the first is art. So glad you shared them!
there's poetry in those photos!
Dearest Hilary, lovely photography as always, how can one not like the play with light and shadows displayed here.;)

Small things amuse me, too! That is a very cool picture. Mind you, the other one is gorgeous, too.
Hope you're having fun!
You have a unique eye for photography. I love seeing through it.
Your photos, like Maryanne's, always warm the cockles of my heart. Wish I knew exactly where the cockles are located...any clue?
Again, lovely photo's, hope you're all well...

That first picture is VERY cool!
Amazing images.
The reflections photo is beautiful. Very impressionistic. The sunset is glorious.
Hilary: Neat photo of the lake.
Pure Beauty!
Love the water by the dock, especially since you aver it is natural as opposed to photoshopped. Very cool.
OMG, that first photo is stunning! Hope you're enjoying your stay.
Gosh Hilary, I have no idea how you always manage to frame such breath-takingly spectacular shots, but you do, consistantly, time after time. WOW! What a feast. Thank you.

Thank you all so much. Your wonderful remarks never fail to make my day.
Saz, I tried responding to your request via email a number of days ago but haven't heard back from you, so I fear I might have had the wrong addie. You are most welcomed to paint this image. I'd love to see it when done. Thanks. :)
Love your photos!!!
Love the reflected light and color.
