I have a few photos to share on this lovely, sunny morning which I hope you enjoy.
On my way to visit Frank earlier this month, the moon was nearly full, and nearly sitting at the apex of this tower.
I quite liked how the warm sunlight seems to highlight and soften the barbed wire fence.
Of course, daffodils have no choice but to look warm and soft at all times.
A pitcher full of quality bird seed. Nothing but the best for Frank's feathered friends.
Here's one little beauty taking full advantage of the feast.
The birds are quite unconcerned about this crazy little JRT. Benny's main dilemma is whether he should hang onto the ball he's already demolishing or go for the other one. Can you see the look of indecision in his eyes?
Problem solved.
Late day sunlight brings out the details in a weathered, wooden door.
In fact, it brings out the details in many things, including this old dried fern.
More photos coming up in a few days.

Bebby's look is perfect for the old saying about eating your cake and wanting it also. But he just can't have both.
very cool...love the framing of hte electrical tower...the moon at the apex of the pyramid...and the barb wire...
Fabulous pictures, Hilary. Benny is adorable, as always.
Hard to choose a favourite, but the moon photo is very cool!
Love your soft browns and golden rays.
That Benny is one funny little dog. Love your photos.
Wonderful shots. I love the light on the barbed wire.
I love them, the one with Benny running amok with a ball is precious.
Miscellaneous shots but very detailed. I really like the old would on the door which shows the beauty aging weathering process.
Enjoy your sunny day.
Beautiful, I love the close-up of the bird seed and the bird feasting!
Great ones, Hil, as usual. =D
i love it when you have time to take photos and share them with us. the simplest things turn to art.
Lighting is what it's all about, and no matter whether sun rays or moonbeams highlight your photos, the results are truly breathtaking. Love the chickadee photo, and Bennie`s expression is priceless. If he demolishes balls that size, what on earth would he do to a tennis ball that he could actually fit into his mouth...
Lovely pictures, as usual. Thank so much for giving me a bit more of Benny, my favorite cyberdog! :-)
I have so few new pictures I post in my blog right now. Most are of the thrift store contents. Today's shots will be of the volunteers. usually I don't post shots of people without their consent, but I will post stuff. :)
Another nice assortment. Really like the moon shot and is there a better subject than that mutt? I don't think so. :)
I like the dried fern. I have never seen one like that. They usually collapse.
Amazing pictures. The light in each one is just perfect.
Great selection of images to make it a better day.
Sorry I haven't been by much lately. I've been away and had some computer issues, but I'm back and will try to visit much more often again.
That moon was meant to dream on.
Love the look in Benny's eye.
Oh the daffys at this time of year. Nice pics - I like the full moon and I must say that birdseed looks almost good enough to eat!
These are fantastic, Hilary! Love, love the zoom in on the birdseed. It looks almost like candy! Or, um, yes, a really good treat. Lucky birds. ;)
beauty everywhere!
What a wonderful and creative moon shot. Just beautiful. And the little chickadee...great detail in that one.
Great set! Always nice to see Jack cavorting around. :) We've been seeing Chickadees in our new home. They're so cute! Love their little noises, too.
These are great--and Benny just made my day!
(Yesterday at the beach I saw a giant, very fit Marine running down the beach with his dog--a miniature Dachshund. He paused along their way and poured some bottled water into his hand so his friend could have a drink. These two friends were very different in size but very alike in fight, I'd say. It takes knowing a little dog.....)
Yes, I did like them Hilary--thanks for sharing.
I did cringe at the barbed wire shot though. The other day, the family was hiking, and the kids had all jumped a small stream and were hugging this large and leaning tree while the Mrs. took a photo. The smallest boy slipped and skinned his back on the bark of the tree. When I picked him up, I saw several pieces of an old barb wire fence that were attached to the tree we were hanging on--little boy just missed those rusty barbs.
I only want see those fences from afar now.
Birds are really smart aren't they? They don't care if a car comes close, or even a crazy Benny dog, but if a human comes too close, they are up and away in a flash!
I think Beby has bit off more than he can chew! Luckie is a medium size dog with a small mouth. She cannot handle a tennis ball!.
I love barbed wire. I helped my Dad run/mend fences when I was small. I thought it fun then, but not now.
OMG, getting the moon right at the apex of that tower is awesome Hilary. All the images are evocative and filled with texture.
I think the little bird on the feeding dish was the winner for me, this time.

personally the barbed wire is my favorite ..
Barbed wire, decrepit doorways and weeds... no one has EVER made these seem so beautiful to me before. You truly have a gift!!
Benny always makes me smile. :-)
Gosh! I just love your photos!!! Every one of them is special. :)
Love your sun shinny day photos. they make me feel good all over.
The moon tower is great and I love your backside of the daffodil. Warm sunshine on the weathered door is beautiful. I would like to see that one enlarged. Its a perfect wall hanging.
Hahaha! I actually thought the close up of the bird seed was salted nut mix! I'm a doofus! But the other shots are all fun, especially the ones of Benny!
Beautiful! And I just realized that quality bird seed eliminates so much waste, so it's really not that expensive in the long run.
Benny is so dang cute, but I love that moon shot!!
that little chickadee hit the jackpot! :-)
Beautiful pictures. The moon shot is amazing.
You really managed to capture the magic of late day sunlight! The image of the moon caught in the tower is, well, perfectly framed. ;-)
Benny is always a pleasure to see, love the ball dilemma and the reflections in the previous post!
You are a true master of the light Hilary :-)
that warm, golden sunlight makes everything beautiful indeed
I'm a big fan of sunlight on old scarred surfaces; wood, especially, although the metal also works (even barbed wire.) There's something about it that immediately turns me reflective and peaceful.
Is it okay if I pretend the moon shot is taken under the Eiffel Tower? Thanks. :)
As always, LOVE the texture pics and Benny! Also, the bird seed looks so good I wonder if the birds might share it with the rest of us?
I am kinda hungry after looking at that birdseed!
The light! It's all about the light!
You capture those fleeting moments of everchanging light so well!
That first photo is a great capture. Not that the rest aren't great also, but, the timing had to be just right for that one. I love the look of the weathered door and the dried fern too.
Love these shots!
Super shots! LOVE how you captured that Moon!
Mastering light and macro has become second nature for you.
Love light on the barbed wire and seeds.
Bravo!
Hilary: Summer is definitely on the way from the look of these terrific photos!
the little bird is precious
Benny really has one eye on the other ball - he's wonderful!!
I had a hard time choosing a favorite here. Oddly (or maybe not), the bird feed had my attention for more than a few seconds as I tried to identify its contents.
How much of your work is framed and hung in your home?
Thanks for stopping by, everyone. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos and I'm always touched by your kind words. :)
there is something so magical about your photos, hilary.
thanks for the enchantment!
plus: benny looks so cute!
Beautiful, girl. Oh my gosh beautiful.
love that little chickadee
Beautiful shots, all of them, and more Benny action. He is a stealer of hearts! That little chickadee is pretty darn cute, too.
Again, another great set.
