Cardinal Rules and the Posts of the Week

The sounds and sights of spring are in full swing now. Saturday afternoon, we saw this beautiful cardinal singing his heart out in hopes of attracting a mate. He sat high atop a tree in a patch of golden sunlight. Frank urged me to get in a little closer to try for a shot. He nudged, I snapped and the bird sang on. I love spring.

I sure wish I could see a cardinal who looks like that guy! They aren't common around here, I guess. Beautiful bird, and congratulations to all the POTWs.

you never fail to amaze me with your shots of songbirds. this one is just tremendous.

cricket's post stopped me in my tracks this week. what a powerful bit of writing. and thank you so much for the nod in humor writing though mine pales in comparison to his piece.

Well thank you, my friend. I'm touched... in both senses, I suppose, but still...

Great shot of the cardinal. I see them quite a bit around here... I guess it helps that I can see them, as for some reason, they seem to favor a certain pine tree. The whole camouflage thing seems to be lost on them. Even so, I love those peeps.

Too bad you don't live closer. We could all get together for a game of Cardinal Puff ;-) It's been a while, but as they say "Once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal, never a drop spilt.

My congratulations to all... now off to read/look/&c.

I love cardinals, we don't have them here in Europe. Their bright red color is so unusual!

Thank you for the wonderful selection of blog posts, you always do such a great job at sourcing great reads and photobloggers for us to enjoy.

Goodness. Thank you very much for the link, the kudos, and the very kind words on my sonnet. Thanks espeically for taking the time to read so many bloggers and let us know who is doing what out there in the world.

Little spring here....grey, grey and more grey. They say that the sun is blooming here soon, and all my breaks and arthritis ache so that must be true.

Beautiful photo of the elegant cardinal Hilary; we see them all the time around here but have never tried to capture one in song.
