Below are a few photos of couples.
A pair of moulting mallards were practicing their yoga in the early morning sunshine.
Two tender, blue blooms of the wild chicory poked their heads through the chain link fence to greet the day.
I was warmed by the sight of this father and teenaged son, holding hands while walking. We nodded and smiled at one another as we passed before I turned to take this shot from behind.
It's been a very hot summer. My neighbour, Lloyd and Frank not only share a beer, but moistened wash cloths to help ensure cooler heads.
A since I rarely include photos of myself, I thought I'd share this one of Frank and me at a wedding we recently attended. Photo credit goes to my wonderful sister, Andrea. Frank insists it's a fluke that we both look okay in the same photo. I think I should drop a wet washcloth on his head.
And now, without further delay, here are the Posts of the Week. The icon below is yours for the taking if if your blog post is named as a POTW.

I love the couples, most especially several of the human ones!
GUess we have all slacked up for the summer on blogging. My excuse is the heat keeps me inside, including camera, and I have been dealing with health issues, too.
However a vacation to Plattsburgh NY is in the making so I will have some material to write about.
hey its great to see you...smiles....and i am def in for the washclothes and cool drinks right about now...the duck pic is def cute...smiles.
All these pair photos do grab my heart. You are more than generous with recognition for my blog and that photo of the two of you really shows love.
I love the duck duo...great catch! I really enjoy the one of you and Frank...that looks like a good catch too!
Oh, I know what you mean about being summer and getting posts done! I've also been a bit absent but trying to catch up a bit. Love the photo of you and Frank! Happy happy couple!
the chicory is so pretty! i like the duck reflections, too. and what a cute couple you are! (wet washcloths, ha ha!)
what a wonderful pic of the two of you!!
Thanks for the POTW award. I'm humbled to be included with great photographers.
As for Frank's comment... wait till the weather gets colder, then accidentally bump him off the dock.
Your two look... marvelous!!!
The shot of the ducks is a winner!
The shot of you and Frank is also a winner!
As for summer blogging I also have difficulty to keep up. August has been the worst.
You and Frank and all the couples are adorable. But yeah, go ahead with the wet washcloth on his head!
How nice to see you and Frank together! Do you think that Frank and Lloyd are officially Old Farts now that they wear cool wet cloths on their heads in hot weather?
Thank you for the POTW! I display it proudly.
OH! A picture of you two, it's wonderful. Thanks!!! And the POTW as well. It seems so long since the last ones...
The photo of father and son melts my heart.
Ha! Adore the duck yoga...the father & son are so sweet. But the best is absolutely of you and Frank. Gorgeous! Revenge being a dish best served cold, I'd wait till December (or February) to drop that wet washcloth on his head: ice him ; )
Look at you guys--how cute!! That's a really good photo of the two of you. Congrats to all the POTW winners! I enjoyed your couples series as well. Hope you continue to have pleasant weather to bring back great shots with your camera. You are missed, however.
Looks like a great list this week. I do love couples, and got a chuckle out of the "log-dancing" ducks. It's also really great to see pics of the blogger whose site I frequently visit. Lovely!
Love the ducks!
Chickory flowers are one of my very favorite. That's just a beautiful photo!
Dang! My daughter was signed in on my computer and I didn't know it! That chicory comment was from ME!
Nice to see a picture of you and Frank.
Great pictures. I really like the one of you and Frank. It is good to put a face with a name.
What a great pic of you and Frank, I love it!
Thanks so much for including me on the POTW :)))
The duck shot is a winner in so many ways...the one-legged poses, the reflections, the detail. Very nice. And it was so nice to see the photo of you and Frank together.
I love it when you introduce us to new blogs. I always check them out. Thanks.
Love the different couples. I'm glad you included one of you and Frank. Y'all make a nice looking couple.
oh youse guys look wonderful!
I like the cool heads look too
Now I know the name of those pretty blue wildflowers: chicory. Thanks for the education Hilary.
Off to read some POTW...
I giggled at those wet washcloths!
You both look great.
Thanks for the tips - and I'm honoured to get a POTW. Thank you.
Love the series but especially love seeing the photo of you and Frank!! You have gorgeous eyes, Hilary!
I admire the mallard shot.
Blogging is supposed to be fun so take your time.
I'm glad you've chosen the post Then and Now by Friko. I loved it too!
Isn't it strange that most of us don't want to show ourselves on our blogs? I have great problems with it and I'm always begging others not to give me away. Silly really.
I am glad to see such a smiling couple and now I know who Frank is; handsome chap you've nabbed yourself!
How strange also to see two men of the same family holding hands. It certainly wouldn't happen here.
Thank you for including my post on POTW, Hilary. You're very kind.
well once the photos load i am sure i will love them
thanks for a POTW .. i have been so crazy busy i didnt get here yesterday
off to say congrats to the others and hopefully see your photos ...
OH GOSH, I love the wild chicory color indeed, and I am a POTW yaaaaaaaaaaay!
Love that first shot! Love it!
It's great to see the photo of you and Frank! And also of the one-footed duck couple.
Thank you so much for the POTW, which I just discovered.
You are SUCH a good photographer. Now I want to see a picture of you and Frank in the exact same pose as the ducks. Can you arrange that?
The two Mallards are showing themselves, all four of them. And the picture of two men, drinking to their towels. And its nice to see you and hubby.
You certainly capture the moment, Hilary. That fragile flower popping through the chain link is especially inviting. Glad Frank is sans wash cloth in your couple photo!
I'm in love...with the ducks. The one forever paused in stretch. :)
As I was scrolling down, I was thinking ....HMM.....she SHOULD have a picture of her and Frank on here, JUST SAYING...........and all of a sudden, there it was.
I was surprised, and pleased.
It is a LOVELY photo.
Thank you for sharing it.
oh duck yoga just makes me giggle both as the picture and as a concept...you know who warped my mind can be...lordy, i'm quacking up picturing more poses...
LOVE getting the chance to see a picture of you. that's the biggest treat :)
OMG You two are adorable, Hilary! And that pict of father and son... beautiful!
Dear Hilary, it seems you are having a warm summer, I envy you. Our summer is one of the worst ones on record, cold and rainy. We had a few warm weeks at the onset of August, but even that has concluded.:( Really, I do not feel we have had any summer at all...
On another note, great images as always and so nice to see you and Frank together, a great couple indeed.;)
Have a nice weekend,
xoxo
What a treat to see you and the elusive Frank! You're so lovely,Hilary. But I have to admit, my favourite of this batch is the yogic ducks.
Party on!
It's so nice to see you and Frank. These are great photos of other couples, too! Love the mallards stretching out!
Just Love that photo of Frank and you. Delightful.
I don't think I can wait until December for more of your wonderful pictures...
I know it's been hard for me to post the few I have posted this summer too.
Hope the temps cool off but keep that wet washcloth ready...
Love the humor.
I will visit your choices. I adores your photos. The chickory. You and Frank. So sweet.
Enjoy your time at the lake. Our lake temp today seems much cooler and I knew what it meant - school starts next week. Back to work. So it goes.
I look rather like the duck on the right when doing yoga ;)
Thanks for the POTW mention!
what a great theme for a post. you and your hubby look so happy, that's nice to see!
Happy Weekend, G
Love the couples, but you two were the best! I know how hard it is to even get both people with their eyes open...for me, anyways. Lovely pic. :)
There you are! Lovely! Beautiful post, Hilary. Your images are always inspiring.
Great picture of you and Frank. Is it in a frame on the wall? You are so pretty. Nice photos of couples, the flowers are a wondrous shade.
The guys remind me of me running into my bathroom for cool water. Its been so hot and with rain .
Lovely image of you and your hubby.
honor role!
Nice shot of you and Frank! Both of you look good!
You two are just plain darling!
You & Frank looked dressed for the wedding in my own family! His tie looks like one my husband should have worn. But much more importantly, it is wonderful to see a picture of both of you together. :)
I know that summer blogging is much slower, since I am just now getting here less than 48 hours prior to the new week's POTW! I may not get around to read all of your wonderful finds, but I recognize several good ones up there on your list.
Thanks, Hilary!
A nice series of pictures Hilary. Particularly nice to see one of you and 'legendary' Frank - Dave
Always great to attend a Summer Wedding, as you both enjoyed, Hilary! lol! :)
