Summer has a way of passing quickly, and now that ours has begun, I'm finding that my blogging schedule lags a bit. I figure I'll post a few photos (and probably not much else) every few days during this season, and pick up again once summer winds down. Below are the first few pictures. I hope you enjoy them. Please remember to click on each to enlarge.
Frank had wondered how two pieces of doggie treats, which we were keeping to reward Benny for coming when called, just disappeared. There had been three pieces on the table just moments earlier.
Wonder no more.
Benny also tries to steal bubbles containers in hopes that he can make his own bubbles to chase down and kill. Notice how he's crushed the green bottle?
A dog can work up a good thirst gobbling dog biscuits. Here's Benny, patiently waiting for Frank to give him a drink from the watering can.
Did I say "patiently?"
As you can tell, he really does love water. At least he has learned to come when called.
More in a few days.

I love this, Hilary! Great minds think alike. I have a similar post today but it's not nearly as fun as Benny up to his antics.
What a great pet! My 7-month-old Boston dragged in the water hose yesterday from the yard through his doggie door. Guess he wanted to play in the sprinkler again.
Fabulous Hilary! Benny is always a star in my book!
Benny is such a happy dog.

Don't blink! As soon as you blink....the leaves will be falling off of the trees again! Hope you Frank and Benny all have a good summer.
BTW will see Doctor tomorrow okay Mom!;)
What an entertaining dog he is! There's never a dull moment with Benny around. Very tiring to have an energetic dog in the house....
They claim dogs are color-blind, but I think Benny has a 'thing' for green...Great fun!
I love Benny!!!!!
Aloha-

I'm surprised he loves water so much. My Bub hates it, won't even go in the bathroom when I'm there because the dreaded water lives in there. He eyes the kitchen sink warily as he passes it too. I suppose dogs, no matter their breed, are all as different as us, each with their own personality.
Benny is as adorable as any young mister I've ever seen! Keep these shots coming, Hilary...you've got a winner here!
Sandi
Benny is so cute, but Frank needs a check up if he was wondering where the dog treats got to ;) Never leave them lying around where the dog can help himself.
Dogs will keep you on your toes, that is for sure.
A very canny little dog! There's a lot going on in that little brain. He is also an opportunist. He is photogenic too. great little dog.
A lot going for him really!
Benny is so cute and I am sure lots of fun to be around.;) As they say; "Life is better with pets".
Have a great Friday Hilary.;)
xo
That is quite possibly the most photogenic dog in the universe.
Though I suspect your patience and quick trigger finger are the reason for so many great shots of him.
Great post! I love Benny!
* Kate, the posts sure are similar. Your beautiful George always makes for a fun read. Thanks for stopping by. :)
* Angie, that's hilarious. I hope the water wasn't turned on at the time. What a clever little critter. :)
* Thanks very much, Kerri. :)
* Leah, he truly is. He finds joy in almost everything. Thanks for the visit. :)
* MPM he sends licks and cuddles right back at you. :)
* Bogey, I'm trying not to blink. This way I can take summer in - in full. I'm glad to know my Mom-voice still works. ;) Best of luck with that and thanks for stopping by. :)
* Shammie, I know you say that with the voice of experience. Tessa must be a handful or two, also. Thanks for the visit. :)
* DS, you might be right but I think Benny just has a thing for fun. Thanks for stopping by. :)
* Aloha, Cloudia. You're not alone. Thanks for the visit. :)
* Scarlethue, Bub must have had some frightening experience with water unknown to you. Poor guy. There's just so much water to be encountered every day. It has to be so stressful for him - and you. Benny LOVES swimming and fetching sticks in the creek and lake. He's a true water pup. Thanks for dropping by. :)
* Thanks so much, Sandi. I'm glad you're enjoying the photos. That means a lot to me. :)
* Thanks, Reb. It's all in just how quick and sneaky this dog can be. He wasn't even around us. We were on my deck and he was off running around visiting other people and dogs on my street. And we were waiting to reward him with treats for coming if and when we called him. He came when called and we had no treats to give him. These photos were actually a reenactment. ;) But that doesn't mean I don't agree with your statement about Frank. ;)
* Tabor, you've got that right. Thanks for stopping by. :)
* Thank you, Maggie. He's all that and more. He's every bit of a scamp as he appears to be. And every bit of a love. Thanks for the visit. :)
* Thanks, Protege. You, and that quote are so right. I hope your own Friday and weekend are wonderful too. :)
* Thanks, Crabby. But my patience is what keeps him alive sometimes, and my quick-trigger finger is what puts him at risk. ;) I AM TOO kidding! Thanks for stopping by. :)
* Thanks, GS. You're in good company in the Benny fan club. :)
I love Benny!
Oh boy if Benny ever meets George .. the photos that would ensue ...
Benny is so adorable! (And sneaky!)
superb dear!!.. u have an awesome pet!
I never tire of Benny pics.
Wow, what a great shot of him jumping! I love Benny. :)
(And my blogging has also fallen way behind. The kids are home, the computer is a hot commodity, and I just don't seem to have much to say.)
Benny is the Star of summer. Great shots that are full of fun.
It seems summer is the slowdown for a lot of us. Blog when you can. I always enjoy what ever you post.
What wonderful shots of Benny! I just love following along with his antics! :)
I love that dog. And your photos of it are super.
At least Benny prefers dog treats to chomping on cameras ! Close call...
The tune of "Benny and the Jets" comes unbidden to mind, that timeless refrain... what an album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was... if that's not it, I wonder who he was named for ?
Your pup is so much fun. The only one I have ever seen drink from a water fountain!
Lovely! Enjoy the summer while it lasts :)
Why does Summer slow us down! Thankfully it has started raining here.
Couldn;t resist taking a peek. Wonderful shots and commentary. You are a natural at this you know. I want you to do a book and let me buy it!
Sorry, I had to delete my last comment because of a most embarrassing typo.
I think the caption for Benny waiting for a drink should be 'Water you waiting for?' I ran here quickly when I saw the word 'Benny' in the title. He is quite the high jumper.
Benny, Benny, Benny. Oh, how I love you.
terrie
coming when called is such a good thing
I baby sat a pooch who would sit when called to come - then you have to go over and get him - exhausting
Benny looks so tiny in the watering can photo - or is Frank the water giant!?
there is a bubble machine that activates by motion - I will try to find it again - what a hoot that would be!!
and thank you for you sweet comments - I am melting ;)
• Thanks for stopping by, L of L. You're not alone. :)
• Daryl, I agree. We could toss Benny toward George.. and he could catch him like a frisbee... ;)
• Baggie, he's very sneaky.. and quick.. and easy to forgive. ;)
• Thanks, Pranksy. Much appreciated. :)
• That's a good thing, JC because there's probably lots more of them to come in the future. Thanks for stopping by. :)
• I know the feeling, KC. Summer just demands outdoors time. If I had a laptop, I'd probably compose posts on my front deck or back yard. Alas, I do not so, lighter posts for the next while. Thanks for the visit. :)
• Thanks always for the kind words, Sue. I suspect I'm not the only one in slow-down mode. Your supportive comments are always appreciated. :)
• Thanks, Andrea. He's a fun little goof. Thanks for dropping in. :)
• Thanks for the kind words, Abe. Very much appreciated. :)
• Owen, so far he's not much interested in the camera - luckily for me. I don't know the thought process behind his name, as he already had it when he came into my life. But funny you should mention Benny and the Jets... ;)
• Thanks, Sandy. He'll drink from almost any water source if the water is moving. He has to kill it! ;)
• Thank you, Phoenix. I sure hope to. :)
• Indrani, it slows me down (blog-wise) because I want to be outside more and not sit at my computer. I'm glad you're getting your much-needed rain. We've had more than our share. Thanks for stopping by. :)
• Thumbelina, thank you so much for your flattering words. You're too sweet. I'm glad you didn't resist the peek. :)
• Pouty, that would have indeed made a fine title. I'll hire you as my copy writer from now on. :) Thanks so much for the visit. :)
• Thanks for stopping by, Terrie. You're not alone in the Benny fan club. :)
• Dianne, that pooch sounds hilarious. And here I thought that simply walking the dog provided me with exercise. You must have been worn out with that critter. It's a bit of both (re tiny Benny/giant Frank).. though mostly it's perspective. :) A bubble machine.. oh.... my... the possibilities... :)
Benny always brings a smile to my face!
It's a bit too cold here to douse the dogs!
• I'm glad he made you smile, Cheffie. He works his magic around here too. :)
• David, I don't think Benny understands the concept of "too cold." He'd love the douse no matter the temps. Snow, if you must. Thanks for stopping by. :)
I like the "waiting patiently!"
Thanks, Louise. :)
Benny is adorable! Dogs are just the best...
Thanks Organic Meatbag.. your nickname makes me laugh. :)
