That first photo is so typical of people! :) Probably good timing on your part. The people that clean up our complex leave bags in piles and come back for them the next day.
Too bad someone dumped that trash ... but I did notice the bicycle. I have noticed some people will take an older bicycle and use it as a lawn decoration or put it in their garden. The old, rusted look is actually quite chic (is that the term?) in some people's minds!
As far as the raccoon .. uh oh!! I have a feeling a most interesting adventure occurred! I hope Benny didn't tangle with one!

I think, like with anything else, some people have the knack to make things like that look right and others just look like they have junk on their lawn.
