Irony

This sight appeared at the entrance of our neighbourhood park the day after trash collection.

I'll have a new tale and some photos for you in a few days. For now, here's a bit of a hint as to what the post will entail.

Please stay tuned.

well, that has certainly got me intrigued. Guess I will have to wait until I get home and log in from there!

Oh some people!

That has me intrigued. A beaver?

Pop over to see me and then you will know me next time I come. :)
Intrigued? Come on over...

Oh, noooo...I thought you were finished with those!!!

I hope I'm not going to see you in a coonskin hat! That would be too sad!!! Well, for the coon...

Racoon or Caterpillar?

Maggie May said...

Some little furry creature that you have adopted?
Some one with a beard that is in serious need of a trim?
That was mean of you to leave us guessing!

Leah J. Utas said...

Looking forward to it.

Brilliant first photo!

Can't wait to hear the rest of this "tail."

That first photo is so typical of people! :) Probably good timing on your part. The people that clean up our complex leave bags in piles and come back for them the next day.

Can't wait to hear about the raccoon.

I'm very intrigued!! Can't wait to hear and see more of the story!! :)

Pat - Arkansas said...

Uh, oh! :) I think I recognize that tail!

Is it a baby?

Hilary said...

Oh, no.....say it isn't so.....the saga continues???????

I look forward to your latest raccoon tale.

Kat said...

It looks like a soaking wet racoon. I'm intrigued.

Karen (formerly kcinnova) said...

The continuing saga of the racoons!! Oh, my!

Nancy said...

It does look like a tail. Or a really bad haircut.

Country Girl said...

Racoons. Could they be the culprits eating our lettuce? Devil spawn.

Shammickite said...

Uhoh.... bandit raccoons!
persistent little creatures, aren't they?

Tricia said...

I can't wait for a tale of a different sort. Irony is right!

Psssttt...something at my place for you.

some people totally believe in the mantra "rules are meant to be broken", eh??!!!!! Civic sense doesn't come easy, I guess!

And you have me all intrigued..is that a pony's tail???

Russell said...

Too bad someone dumped that trash ... but I did notice the bicycle. I have noticed some people will take an older bicycle and use it as a lawn decoration or put it in their garden. The old, rusted look is actually quite chic (is that the term?) in some people's minds!

As far as the raccoon .. uh oh!! I have a feeling a most interesting adventure occurred! I hope Benny didn't tangle with one!

• I should have it set to go sometime on Monday, Tabor. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Not a beaver, Cath. :) I did indeed drop by and will now know you when I see you next. ;) Thanks for including me. :)

• Daryl, oh yes! :)

• DS, I'm only getting started... ;)

• Sandi, I promise you would never see me in that. I don't wear fur.. not dead fur, anyway. ;)

• Madame Ladybug, yes. ;) Welcome, and thanks for stopping by. Please come back again soon. :)

• Sorry to keep you waiting, Maggie. But your second guess is a tad off the mark. Frank's beard is not THAT much in need of a trim. ;)

• I won't keep you waiting for too long, Leah. :)

• Thanks very much, TSannie. Much appreciated. :)

• I'll try to be quick(ish) about it, Angie. :)

• Reb, that's the most likely scenario. And I do believe that trash pickup at the park is a different day than regular neighbourhood collection. I'll try not to take too long for the next post, but warn you that it might be a two-parter. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Thanks for checking in, Andrea. I'll try to have it up by Monday. :)

• I think you probably do too, Pat. :)

• You're getting warmer, MPM. :)

• It is so, Hilary. It continues.. soon. :)

• Check back on Monday, NJ. I hope to have it posted by then. :)

• You're partly correct, Kat. :)

• Indeed, KC. Soon! :)

• L of L, you made me laugh out loud. That would be a really bad haircut. :)

• CG, I don't know about your lettuce (sounds more like rabbit behaviour to me) but how can those angelic faces be devil spawn? ;)

• They are indeed persistent, Shammie. And very intelligent. :)

• Thanks Tricia. I'll head on over after I'm done answering comments. :)

• Moi, if you read back to Reb's comment, I think that's the more likely event. I think it was the park's spring clean-up waiting for pickup. Stay tuned for the story behind (or in front of) that tail. :)

• You're right, Russell. I too, have seen old bikes adorning properties and I have mixed feelings about how they look. I think, like with anything else, some people have the knack to make things like that look right and others just look like they have junk on their lawn. Benny was nowhere nearby when this story unfolded, thankfully. :)

• Not for too much longer, Gary. :)

If the word Irony had to be illustrated, your top picture would be the perfect one for the job.
Wishing you a splendid weekend.;))

It's Ranger Rick! Do Canadian raccoons wear hats?

Or maybe it's a Busy Beaver?

A Badger? (no, his tail would be flat)

Groundhog?

Looking forward to finding out.

The owner of the item in that second shot must be very cranky without it!

Jo said...

That's a raccoon tail! I can hardly wait to hear the story attached to that!

Sarah Anne said...

Raccoon! I'm intrigued.

Dianne said...

If I remember correctly I met you because "tale" like critters were crashing through your ceiling

I'm hoping this is different :)

Hilary said...

• Thanks, Protege. It was a fine weekend and I hope yours was as well. Thanks for the kind words.. much appreciated. :)

• UmmFarouq you certainly take the prize for number of guesses. I won't keep you waiting too long for the answer now. I'll be posting very soon. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Sandy, she would be if that were the case, but she has not parted with it. Thanks for the visit. :)

• It won't be long now, Jo. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Welcome, Georgie and come back soon. I'll have that post up before too long. :)

• It is different, Dianne - with good news/bad news aspects to this tale. Stay tuned - it's going up soon. :)

hah! good thing I read in reverse order, this would've driven me crazy (not the most patient person, can you tell yet?).

Still, I'm eager to know the outcome.

Hilary said...

That's OK, IBHH.. I read your comments in reverse too. ;)

funny, that first picture.

but that pun was so bad it hurt.

ouch.

Clowncar, that's what they're meant to do. ;) Thanks for stopping by. :)
