Dancing with the feet is one thing,
but dancing with the heart is another
~ Unknown
As promised in my previous post, I'd like to introduce you to the little girl who caught my eye at the wedding. She more than had my attention - I could hardly tear my camera away from her while she was out on the dance floor. I don't know her name, nor do I even know who she belongs to but I found her very entertaining. And adorable.
I'm sure you'll agree.
She was a bit tentative at first. She seemed to be sizing up the situation. To dance or not to dance? Am I being watched? Photographed? Do I care? (I was halfway across the room when I snapped these photos so she really wasn't aware of me.)
Before long, she started to move with the music. Feeling the rhythm, she began clapping her little hands and tapping her sparkly feet.
She pirouetted, jumped, bowed and swung. She had the moves, this little one.
She danced alone...
With partners..
And with gusto!
She owned that dance floor.
And she totally rocked it!
This was one little kidlet who danced with her feet and her heart.

She certainly was a charmer. :)
Oh, she's adorable, from those beautiful eyes to the lovely dress to the wonderful sparkly shoes. Whoever she belongs to will want a set of those images.

adorable kid!
She is beautiful! Full of personality!
You got some nice shots from the dark floor. You did well.
How Sweet!!!
Once again I made the list...which is way too flattering...but it was a very honest post. What is the lens that you use to get such a good shot from across a dark room? Your flash carries very well also.
Love, love, love her expressions....
They reveal her heart, and she has heart!
Beautiful job, Hilary.
Thank you for sharing your talents with me.
Thank you, also for the POTW. I am honored to be among those included.
I looked at the beautiful church in your last post – what a wonderful place to be married. This little girl indeed must have had a great time that she will remember. I still remember my father’s cousin wedding in Paris when I was four years old – I think that is when I started to love dancing. I am behind as usual after several trips so I have to visit all my friends’ blogs who left comments but I’ll come back and visit the blogs you listed.
Adorable!
funny, as i scrolled down thru your photos, i saw her as an 80 yr old, still out there, doing her thing...with gusto. :)
She is truly adorable. I LOVE her shoes. She's going places, that one. :-)
How sweet! Ah, youth!
Cheers from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!
Oh, how cute is she? I can see why you were mesmerized. Adorable!
I love her sparkly shoes too. Gracie has those and a pink sparkly pair too. ;)
Oops. Sorry, Hilary! That Todd Erriffic was me. I didn't realize my husband was signed in on the computer when I made my comment. ;)
What an adorable dancer! And thanks so much for the POTW honor!! That was so generous, thank you.

That little girl dancing with all her heart, so lovely.
Looks like this little girl totally stole the show and rightly so.
The little girl is adorable! I can see why you were drawn to photograph her. Beautiful and fun captures. :)
Thank you for selecting my post in your POTW series. It's such a huge honor. I am so glad you're back with this because I have been searching for new blogs to add to my roll and this helps tremendously. Thank you, Hilary. You are a gem!
I can see why you were captivated! :) :)
These photos are so wonderful of such a precious little girl. I really enjoyed your captures of all of her expressions. She did have a great time.
What great photos. I covered the annual pig spleen reading last December (you know, where they forecast the weather for the next six months by reading pig spleens?) and there was a young boy dancing in the living room. I took numerous photos and not one was worth while. You're a good photographer.
And thanks for the POTW.
(Yes, pig spleen reading is a thing.)
lovely choices and i am going to see if Mr MeiDere's raccoons are as funny as yours
that little girl is simply delightful
That little girl is utterly delightful. Her sparkly shoes are perfect for dancing to the music and with her heart.
Love that quote.
That little girl was certainly enjoying herself.
I found your blog via a comment you left on another blog. It is so nice to meet another Canadian blogger, who is also from Ontario, who is also in the same county as me. Your header is gorgeous. We are great bird watches and love walking by the Bay of Quinte.
Have a lovely weekend.
The link on my name takes you to a back door entry into my site, which is a self hosted Wordpress one and I can't link directly to it.
You have an eye to capturing the spirit of your subject, pure delight!
Thank you for your comment on my post. :)
What a lovely little girl and she takes a very good photo. Well captured.
So pleased you chose Jackie for post of the week as I thought her photo was very expressive.

Oh to be young and let it all hang out and just have fun. You caught enough [photos to make a good story
The feeds don't seem to be picking up my blog. I'm still hare and posting so you'll just have to do some clicking and drop by.
If we could all dance with such joy! There would be peace on earth.
Kids are so uninhibited. I wish I could be that way but I'm such a serious guy. Beautiful pictures of this young lady.
What a cutie. She has the whole package: great shoes, great dress, great dance moves!
Absolutely delightful! I hope she continues to dance throughout her life in magical silver shoes :)
she has to be somebodys baby...somebody onky light...she has to be somebady baby
Oh that little spitfire did me some good tonight. She's something else!
Precious little girl indeed. :)
That little cutie brought a smile to my face. Well done! I'm glad you liked my "Cold" photo. You make me proud. Hopefully it's not unrighteous pride though. ;-)
Oh my gosh, she totally captured my heart and I wish I could have been out on the dance floor with her. She'll be my inspiration from now on. I love how her smile kept getting bigger. That's how I feel when I'm out on the dance floor! Congrats to the posts of the week!

Thank you for POTW AWARD! A wonderful surprise and I feel very honoured being in such great company! Congratulations to all other winners!
It is also a lovely reminder of the times with David McMahon. Time flies, so along ago and yet it feels as if it was only yesterday.
The little girl is adorable.
Cheers from Vienna,
Merisi
I think it is amazing how children can capture us. You did good in getting the photos.
Very cute and I LOVE her shoes. ;)
Love that little girl...what a character! Who is it who said never work with kids...lol. Well done though, I probably wouldn't have been able to take any photos because she's just so darn cute. :)
She is truly a photographer's delight!
She is a star! And you too, for taking such wonderful photos of her - I'm sure her Mum and Dad would love to see those photos and I hope that she keeps her beautiful sparkle.
What a cutie patooti.
Boy isn't she a winner on the dance floor. What a darling, and you were there to catch it all.
Hope the settling in is going well. Thanks too for giving all those wonderful folks POW. :)
Ha! Those are some of the cutest photos I've seen. Many thanks.
Greetings from London.
She is just precious, Hilary, and your photographs of her are just wonderful!
Wishing you a fantastic day.
I love your girl in her dress. She looks so happy.
Love the way you captured her energy... a great inspiration for all of us too-self-conscious adults!
