One morning, last week, I awoke to soft, golden sunlight pouring through my window. It was one of those moments when I knew I should go get the camera, but the blanket was so warm and cozy and I felt too comfortable to look for it downstairs. Then I remembered that the camera happened to be on the nightstand right beside me. Bonus!
The first thing I noticed bathed in sunlight was a small wooden box which sits upon the dresser. On top of it were a few inexpensive bangle bracelets where I'd discarded them the night before.
Stepping back a bit, you can see the shadow cast by a Kokopelli candle holder nearby. It was a gift from Frank a few years back.
On the opposite corner of the dresser, a few fake flowers and a painting of a great blue heron which we purchased late last summer.
OK, so this day was so totally beautiful that I had to head out for a quick walk. You know how much I enjoy seeing textures in nature, particularly on trees. I couldn't resist snapping the vibrant colour of this broken limb.
On my way home (What? I said it was a quick walk.), this little cutie was waiting for me. She's my neighbour's schnoodle (schnauzer and poodle mix), Raven.
I was happy to see a bit of spring growth in my front garden - even if I had to get down on my knees, brush the leaves aside and use the marcro lens to see it.
Back home again and time for a coffee and this luscious blood orange. It was delcious.
Thanks for joining me in soaking up this morning sunlight.

I love all of them, as I was thinking about which one to point out that I loved more, I realized I just couldn't do it. They are all spectacular in your usual way. :-)
your lovely, sunny phoyos made my morning.
Both Raven and the blood orange! Be still, my heart!

The sign of a great photographer. You can take the most everyday views and turn them into art! Beautiful.
I love the shadow and the bangle shot. Great post, Hilary.
love what you shared today.....if I were to have to pick a fave it would be the blood orange....love the textures. Oma Linda
If you airbrushed a yellow brick road under your neighbor's dog, it would make a great picture of Toto.
Delightful. I too wallow in gratefulness for the golden sunshine here. :)
The second picture of the shadow is great. My favorite.
Those blankies feel nice some mornings and I lay back and enjoy it, until the sunlight says go shoot a few.
Truly enjoyed soaking up the sunshine with you.
The green of the broken branch is a beautiful reminder that life comes springing back. Thank you.
Seeing beauty everywhere.I love how you can do this and capture beautiful images.
Wow the picture of the orange is lovely, and I am crazy about kokopelli. Go figure.
That orange looks delicious ... as does the morning light!
It's always a pleasure to see the world through your eyes, Hilary. And I'm still loving the macro shot of the yarn around the twig from a few days ago...
You have captured beautiful light in these photos, thanks for sharing.
Beautiful morning images dear Hilary.;) It is morning here too, Friday and I am having a day off and finally some time to blog.;)

the low light when the sun is on the horizon always enriches... nice photos.
What lovely light! That second shot is wonderful!
My dresser would be way too cluttered and dusty to snap an impromptu photo of it! Lol. These made some interesting images, I love the shadows. And Raven is adorable. :)
A Beautiful post HIlary! Your words and images make me feel like I was there with you :)
Wonderful photos all but the Kokopelli shadow hovering over the jewelry box could be the jacket cover photo for a mystery story.
Raven IS a cutie...
Excellent pics! I love the last one! :)
Yay for spring!!
I loved that morning walk, even though I'm reading it at night! That orange looks scrumptious!
That first image, of the bangle bracelets on top of the box, just charms me.
Glad the sunlight invited you to play, Hilary. Kokopelli is celebrating your treasures. That dog is too cute!
Wow - you are encouraging me to get my camera and keep it on my nightstand now!! hee hee!! Love the light!! and oh, Raven is adorable!
Thanks for the big dose of Vitamins D and C, as well as some tender hints of spring. I love the initimacy of the bracelet pictures in particular. Very romantic and sensual somehow, hinting at stories...
Lovely captures of the bangles. You never miss an opportunity. :)
Seeing your life through your eyes is a blessing I think. Bangle bracelets are fun, you are fun. Candles, flowers, favorite photos in your home is peaceful. Your walks are entertaining and your neighbor's dog must be a warm welcome when you return from walks. What a lovely morning.
I schnoodle! I have just written about the cavapoos that have come into our family by default! These poodle crosses seem to be all the rage now.
Love the picture of the bracelets on the jewellery box.

I loved our early morning quicky walk.
Its a beautiful way to start the day.
Since my computer is mostly kaput, I at least can comment on my Hubby's desktop. I don't think I will be doing much picture posting though.
Hanging in there and feeling a bit sad until things can be fixed.
Is that the shadow of a Kokopelli on the wall in pic1? Whatever it is, I like it.
Lovely shot of the bangles and the shadow. The green in the tree branch is very vibrant.
I love how you capture the spectacular beauty that's right in front of you all the time. So cool.
