Sunshine Came Softly

One morning, last week, I awoke to soft, golden sunlight pouring through my window. It was one of those moments when I knew I should go get the camera, but the blanket was so warm and cozy and I felt too comfortable to look for it downstairs. Then I remembered that the camera happened to be on the nightstand right beside me. Bonus!

bangles and box
The first thing I noticed bathed in sunlight was a small wooden box which sits upon the dresser. On top of it were a few inexpensive bangle bracelets where I'd discarded them the night before.

kokopelli shadow
Stepping back a bit, you can see the shadow cast by a Kokopelli candle holder nearby. It was a gift from Frank a few years back.

bedroom light
On the opposite corner of the dresser, a few fake flowers and a painting of a great blue heron which we purchased late last summer.

tree texture
OK, so this day was so totally beautiful that I had to head out for a quick walk. You know how much I enjoy seeing textures in nature, particularly on trees. I couldn't resist snapping the vibrant colour of this broken limb.

raven
On my way home (What? I said it was a quick walk.), this little cutie was waiting for me. She's my neighbour's schnoodle (schnauzer and poodle mix), Raven.

new shoots
I was happy to see a bit of spring growth in my front garden - even if I had to get down on my knees, brush the leaves aside and use the marcro lens to see it.

blood orange
Back home again and time for a coffee and this luscious blood orange. It was delcious.

Thanks for joining me in soaking up this morning sunlight.
