Alien Landing: I was probably reading blogs when this green glow caught my attention and demanded my camera's presence. It was the sunlight streaming through a new water bottle creating striking lines in brilliant green.
Night Lights: It was a rainy ride across the city from my place to Frank's. I was with my friend Carol Anne. She was driving, so I had plenty of opportunity to focus on lights through the wet windshield.
Those Naughty Amish: A few days later, on my way back home, I was watching out for this sign which my son referenced the last time he visited me. We both got a kick out of the juxtaposition of these strange bedfellows.. so to speak. The adult toy shop appears to have put the Amish furniture maker out of business and will be taking over their space before too long.
And now, without further delay, here are the Posts of the Week. The icon below is yours for the taking if if your blog post is named as a POTW.

Oh that green water bottle is spectacular! Such a beautiful picture of such a normal object.
Well, it is naughty of the naughty shop to take over the wholesome Amish place: how much space does a naughty shop need?! I'm curious now.
That green bottle is so stylish and elegant.
My favourite time of the week...Thank you for this Hilary and for all the work it represents :-)
I love the rain drops on the windshield, one never knows what's going to appear...
I'd be exaggerating somewhat if I said you light up my life, but these glowing pictures certainly bring a lot of de-light my way!
Love the green bottle and its reflections!
Oh, well, thank you very much, Hilary... I always try to catch your POTW and there I saw mine. Always appreciated ... And I do like the light in that green bottle pic.
i really love the raindrops on the windshield.
thanks for this lovely post and congrats to the winners.
xx
Gorgeous pics!! And the signs for the "Naughty Shop" cracked me up!!
Hugs

Great series. The light the first is spectacular.
Thank you for interesting POTW.
Greetings.
Hilary...Thank you for mentioning my blog again!!! I love the green light through the bottle and the juxtaposition of businesses...those are the sort of of things that seem to capture my attention too!
I need to remember to set aside time for reading your POTW!! Great photos. I also was wondering as Kerry did...how much space do they need. What on earth do they sell, never having set foot in one?
love the glass picture , yea those naughty amish
haha, naughty AMISH indeed!
Great pictures Hilary and I was so pleased to find my name in the list.
thank you very much for noting my Hoops .. still have had no luck finding out who made them, how they got there or what they're made of .. but they are fun ...
Photo #3 just confirms what I've always suspected: When given the choice between sitting down or getting down, most folks will choose the latter.
I'm glad someone else was driving when you took that night/rain shot (which I really like, by the way).
Three of the best, great photography.
Just delightful. Thank you as usual. I often wonder how you make the time to get such great or humorous shots, read and comment on all of us and still live. I seem to be shrinking, and I find everything takes longer to do. After spending my afternoon beginning another essay on the fascist arts, this morning I had to use a very old photo to start my blog. I applaud your use of creative time.
thanks, hilary, for always widening our blog view! :)
Those reflections are really artwork in itself!

ooo that green glass is awesome...great capture of its green shadow too...
congrats everyone!
I love how those green lines came out, and I'm glad you said you weren't driving in that next one. I was gonna have to scold you.
Again, your keen eye has captured some great shots. The sun and the green bottle make for a stunning combination!
Many thanks for the POTW Hilary ~ :)
Many thanks Hilary, you are very kind.
What a photo opt that green bottle was. I'm so glad ya grabbed your camera. It sure made for a beautiful photo.
The Amish place just cracked me up! Guess it's neighbor needs room to be naughty! Heehehehehe!!
God bless ya sweetie and have a magnificent day!!! :o)
Love your light/night shots, but especially the Naughty Amish. Kinda sad they were run off, though. Congrats to the POTW! I'll be heading their way asap!
Oh those Naughty Amish furniture makers....
I laughed at the Amish/naughty shop...since I live in Amish country! I went over to the blog about the bee hive..now that was cool!
Brilliant color from the bottle and you caught it.
Pretty tricky with the Amish picture. Your son has a good eye.
Love the green glass and the lights through the the rainy windshield almost make me want to be a passenger on a rainy night. As always thank you for the love and support, it does a Mami good.
That's a hoot about the stores! I'm sure the Amish weren't too thrilled with the management company for doing that!
Neat photos. I loved the photo of the green bottle too.
Love those lights through the windshield!
Thanks everyone for stopping by to comment here, and at various POTW bloggers. Your kind words are always very much appreciated. :)
Yes Hilary, that green water bottle was an interesting subject - Dave
Love those images Hilary, particularly those turquoise twin lights through the rainy windshield. Remind me of my many drives home through rain storms.;)
Congratulations to all those talented people.;))
xoxo
The colorful lights on your rainy drive are beautiful! All are simply divine, tho.
Congrats to all the POTW winners! What an honor. :)
My goodness when I saw the first photo I was oohing and ahhing and then I scrolled down to the second photo and my eyes popped out. Great photos. I am a Hilary Wanna-Be!
You were in my neighbourhood. The Amish furniture store has moved to the other side of the building.
