I've been beating the squirrels off my bird feeder to no avail and so have resorted to feeding them at a separate venue - a picnic table in the woods with seed just for them. So far, so good...

Those squirrels were seen in the park, a fair distance away, while I was out walking. It looks like someone left a good mix of bird seed for them. They were quite content feeding their furry little faces.
