Please look at the image below. It's a close up view of an object which I saw while out and about one day. Do your best to guess what it is in the comments section. I'll publish the full image, along with other photos in tomorrow's post. Thanks for playing along!

Oh, Hilary I have no idea what this is. It's late and I'm not very clever this late at night. Congratulations to the POTW choices and thanks for hosting this.
Another great set of posts to read! Many thanks.. and thanks for nominating my post too.
That photo? Could it be reflected soap bubbles?
Thank you Hilary for the kind "plug." I just followed the link to Amy's City Life post--an excellent read. I look forward to reading the other authors.
little round rocks that go in a fish tank?
if you have time, stop by lazyhuskyranch.com, my blog. Please, and thanks :)
Hilary,
here I am taking a momentary break from HOURS of homework all day long. And I find this nice surprise :).
Thank you! I'll check out the others this week after mid-terms.
xxamy
I'm sure it's not...but the image reminds me of those little clear marbley rocks in the vases of bamboo plants!
Absolutely clueless about the image (reflection or reflecting something). Congratulations to the POTWs; I look forward to some great reading!
Looks like plastic beads to me. Now I have to make some tea and go read these posts!
Hilary, your image today is very difficult, I have no clue, I admit.;) My best guess is some sort of beads, but then again, but they are so close together. It could be something natural, like some sort of aquatic plant life? I am lost with this one, it will be interesting to find out.;)
Have a great day,
xo
i think they are rubber fishing worms...thank you hilary, smiles. will visit everyone in a bit...congrats all!
I have no idea what that image is!?! Congrats to all the POTW winners. Must go and check them out now
Hugs
SueAnn
I'm blank , need more coffee perhaps.
But I will check out your recommends.
Thanks as always for doing this.
I have no clue, but everyone seems to be saying beads so I'll say marbles.
I love the soft gold colors in the photo, but haven't a clue what they are! You've got me wondering now ...
thank you thank you thank you !
you can't imagine how thrilled i was to sit down this morning at my computer and see that i had been chosen as potw....what an honor !
talk about putting an extra little bounce in my step today...enough so that i'll be dancing :)
and your close up photo....WOW, am at a loss as to what that is...
My first impression was frog eggs, but they are probably beads. Your eyes find sucn interesting things!
Hi Hilary: Your mystery photo is intriguing. I really have no idea but will toss in the guess of some sort of cells in the human body.
Thanks for these great links. I look forward to checking them out.
I was going to say a strand of beads folded around and around but you said you saw it while on a walk
so I guess that can't be
unless it's the elusive wild jewelry!
thanks for all the great posts to read
Is it a necklace? Now I need to go make new friends with all these wonderful POTW!
The first two thoughts I had were a close up of a bead curtain of some sort, or fish eggs floating in a layer on water.
Beautiful enough to frame, either way.
Hmmmmm. Liquid of some sort? Perhaps insect related? I can't quite get at it. Maybe I'm totally off, but I'm thinking maybe rain drops on a spiderweb? Probably not.
I know it's going to irritate me when you reveal what that is...that said, I can't even hazard a guess!
Off to the POTW's!
You have some truly great posts recommended this week.
I'm going to have to guess a bead-curtain?
Great picks, as ever.
Excellent choices ..
And I do believe those are beads perhaps on a circa 1960 'curtain'
I do love that you do the posts of the week. You always choose such good ones to honour.
As far as the picture goes, I was thinking it was a beaded curtain also. I have a feeling though that I am wrong about that.
I think it's part of a lighting fixture...or maybe something you put in a fish tank.
Or maybe it's an invading force of oddly shaped Jellyfish!! They've developed the ability to walk on land, and it's the invertebrate revolution long rumored to be headed our way. Run for you lives!! (Want to guess how much coffee I've had, hmmmmm? Thought not.)
As always I enjoyed the posts of the week, Hilary. Thank you for sharing them, and thanks to all who wrote them.
I will actually be away again for a bit, as I've got a friend coming in to town tonight. I did get to everyone's posts so ...yay, something accomplished! Have fun, and take care :-)
very awesome image on top,
thanks for the reading lists ...
Happy Wednesday!
It reminds me of bubble wrap up against a window, but it looks a little more transparent than that. Your mystery objects are always so mysterious! Great posts of the week!
looks like dew or rain drops strung on a leaf...
thanks for yet another mention in POTW - it's always a delight to be mentioned, to find new bloggers and read such wonderful posts!
I will read these later. Thanks for highlighting them, Hilary.
That image makes me think of a beaded curtain. Seems there are strings running through the center, and I can't think of anything else.
Oh, Thank you Hilary!
What a surprise to awake and find such an honor; I love being included in your list!
By the way, I took the suggestion of several commenters on that post and submitted it to our newspaper. They'll be running it next week.
The image? I'm going to go with the folks who guessed a beaded curtain. And is that your own reflected image in the background, or a fearsome alien from another planet, perhaps hiding behind the curtain?
I'm going with iridescent glass beads.
I think they're glass beads, like for a necklace. Will check out some of the other award winners-congrats!
Thanks Hilary. This is so cool. It's my first award. And I am excited to be recognized by someone as talented as you are.
Hi Hilary-- I can't even begin to guess what this is. It's very cool but I'm clueless.
Thanks for a fabulous list of posts. I loved Beth's turtle pic and post when I first saw it and loved it when I went back and looked again. Lady Fi and Brian's post made me cry and Pearl's post made me smile. Another great set of suggestions.
Cheers,
jj
good question what are those lovely green balls with reflections in them, glass beads?
fun fun fun
Thanks everyone for being such a supportive group. Your kind comments to me and to the POTW folks are so appreciated. I'll reveal the mystery photo in a scheduled post tomorrow. There are some very creative answers here.. I'm smiling at you, Shimp.. and Brian.. and Suldog.. oh and Redbush. Most of the rest of you were on the right track. Thanks for playing along. :)
Thanks! Hilary, again! for sending all these people over to me.
You deserve a POTW all your own, every post.
...and I would have been here sooner had Blogger let me know you had new posts up. :-\
I had to stop fooling around on the computer and go off to work. Tonight I read all my fellow POTW bloggers and I see I am in distinguished company indeed!
Hilary thank you very much for the nomination. Really means a lot.
