Sunrises
Male or female, if my name were either Don or Dawn, I'd be up at sunrise to celebrate the glory that is me.

The morning of February 11, 2015
Morning is wonderful. Its only drawback is that it comes at such an inconvenient time of day.

January 29th's sunrise.
The sun got confused about daylight savings time. It rose twice. Everything had two shadows.

February 11th through my bedroom deck.
Four AM - if I'm ever up that early, it's because I'm up that late.

Same day - different window. And considerably later than 4 a.m.
The sun never sets on the British Empire. But it rises every morning. The sky must get awfully crowded.

January 26th also pitched in with some pretty colours.
Sunsets
I need to call it a night. But only because I don't know what else to call it. What's in between evening and morning?

A lovely end to Groundhog Day, February 2, 2115.
If a university's colors were blue and pink, they could be the Fighting Sunsets.

January 27th - dusk over the frozen lake.
As the evening sky faded from a salmon color to a sort of flint gray, I thought back to the salmon I caught that morning, and how gray he was, and how I named him Flint. ~ Jack Handy
This is how it looked over the bay on Valentine's Day.
Speeding along I-10 last summer, heading west, I chased the sunset, thinking if I kept up I could extend my day indefinitely, or at least until I hit a major body of water. ~ Jarod Kintz
Facing west, outside the kitchen window and over the hills. Also February 14th.
Is there anything more beautiful than a beautiful, beautiful flamingo, flying across in front of a beautiful sunset? And he's carrying a beautiful rose in his beak, and also he's carrying a very beautiful painting with his feet. And also, you're drunk.

Each image is spectacular. I love those sunrises and sunsets.
What a great collection of sunrise photos and quotes to go along with them.
Lovely scenes of those glorious times of day!
Winter can be so beautiful :)
I dreamed I was watching sunset last night, perhaps a prelude to your sunrises. I couldn't get my shots fast enough or in focus.Maybe it was more of a nightmare.LOL I have moved also, so am finding all kinds of new horizons.
Ah, but you have new wonderful and different sunrises and sets this year! It is the same sun, the same moon, only we have changed, be it place or perspective.
I found myself scrolling for not only the next photograph but for the next quotation.
Love!!
Ahhh...beautiful, soothing, relaxing for a winter's day.
What a disappointment to have it work out so poorly. It was such a spot.
Glorious pictures.
Beautiful photos just love the third one from the top. =0)
This is such a beautiful post and I love those quotes! I hadn't heard of Jarod Kintz before but had to go look him up. What an inspiring writer.
Lovely, lovely images.
Beautiful colours in these skies!
Those trees look really dramatic with the sunset/rise behind them.
Always lovely photos on your blog.

Twilight is magical
I've missed visiting here, Hilary! Just can't seem to find time for blogging. Don't know where the time goes. So glad to see you're still posting your beautiful images. These are spectacular!
Such beautiful sunsets. I can't see sunsets from my house as there is a big hill between the house and the horizon. Same on the east side. On the other hand, we get lots of south sunshine which is very welcome this time of year.
My sister gets amazing sunset shots from her place at the top of that tall building in E.City.
I like yours better than my version earlier today! You are the champ!
Some spots we settle in for a while we shall never forget. :)
Hope life is treating you well.
It looks like the place had lovely starts and finishes to the days, at least.
Beautiful, I love the winter sky!
You do good work:)
That was a beautiful place, and I love the photos. But, I'm also enjoying your new stomping grounds. Hope you are, too!
I laughed at that last quote, but not before I looked for the flamingo.:-)
Hilary: I'm sure others have suggested this, but you need to think about publishing a book of your formidable collection! :)
Ah, so beautiful. Sunrises and sunsets are always special favorites.
Glorious shots of a great location.
Lovely endings to your days. Yes, it was both good and bad and you saved the good!
so soft and subtle but all that shite looks cold.
Those skies are hypnotizing....to say the least----Beautiful!!!
Every shot is beautiful and I especially like the moon shot! I know you'll have some lovely pics from this Winter too, in your new location. You brought back all my memories from last year as I was recouping from my knee surgery. We had so much snow and bitter cold last year but I was able to be home and stay inside and not have to work. This year it's been pretty mild compared to then and I'm glad since I'm out every day at 6:45am!
Truly spectacular sunrises and sunsets in your "other life".
Thanks for sharing them with us.
I don't see many sunrises, I just can't seem to get my eyes open for the show.
Great photos and quotes...all smiles and chuckles.
The colors are all so beautiful, Hilary. I can almost smell the freshness in the winter air!

Mesmerizing captures, all well framed.
I did something similar but yours is way better than mine.:)
as i was scrolling through these sunrises/sunsets i thought if i lived in this office with its amazing views i could take photos like that ... and then reality set in .. i have captured a few sunrises and during the earlier sunsets a few of those but on the whole ... meh
hard to enjoy the quiet beauty when i'm laughing all the way with the quotes... :)
breathtaking. Stunning. Beautiful. Love the quotes too! :)
Hello Hilary,
Just wanted to say I'm still alive and when I get the time still have a look at your blog when I can. This was another wonderful example of why I have to check in when I can!
Take care,
Tom
The last quote is a hoot! I do love a good sunrise. Luckily, I just witnessed quite a few in Panama.
Stunning. Thanks.
Greetings from London.
Perhaps this new life won't be quite so picturesque, but it will offer new and wonderous images like those of the locks. Hugs.
You captured some amazing sunrises and sunsets there, that's for sure! Thanks for sharing them with us!
Lovely skies! It's a treat to see so many in one post.
I am happy for you, that you have some amazing photos, but that you have a better life now!
Take good care! xo
Beautiful sunrises and sunsets images, really superb.
Hello Hilary!
I've missed my visits here. Hoping to renew my blogging semi-addiction this year. :)
I watch the sunsets through the trees in my back yard from the upstairs window of my office/den. Your photos remind me of those peaceful times. I should do it more often.
Happy New Year to You and Your Family!
Stunning photos - you must miss it all at times, but lots to discover in your new life too.
The sunrises over the lake are beautiful. I do hope they are not bringing back bad memories, though.
Amazing pictures!! with beautiful colours of sky. Loved all your pictures.
Maggie
I adore sunrises and sunsets! And yours are spectacular!
Um, you're off 100 years for Groundhog day. Just sayin'….
Your incredible photos took me back to my first sunrise in the late Spring of 1974; such beauty I hadn't seen in my young life.
Your pictures bring those feelings flooding back; for that I thank you.
