You are such an artist, Hilary. I enjoy looking at (or falling into) your pictures so much. The quotes were also very thought provoking. :-)

Trees provide us with so many images and yes textures. You've caught some interesting textures which are beautiful to look at. For some of these things I wonder how long did it take and what has happened while these textures formed.

The contrast between the sticks and the snow is great. You have such a wonderful eye for detail!

As we well know, photography is all about light and shadow. Texture uses them and forms a third dimension. I can get lost in a tree trunk. ;)

Good stuff. :)

Ah!!!!!
The quotes are marvelously supporting and enhancing the pics.

Nice juicy stuff this. :) I just got photoshop 10, and I will see if I can add a little something to my images. :)

You find such beauty in the most mundane things, Hilary. Or maybe you make the most mundane things beautiful with your photographic ability. Your perspective on the fungus was especially nice.

the tree bark is so so beautiful
all those bumps and cricks telling a story, like character lines on a grand old face
so wonderful

the sweet twig standing in the snow looks a bit like an ancient tripod

The textures of a life, the bumps and lumps, silky smooth patches and furry nostalgic ones, crispy crunchy areas, dry or oozing...all so symbolically illustrated throughout nature; there for our understanding and interpretation if we only take the time to look. To really look. As you do.
