A Blush of Scarlet & Posts of the Week

I stepped outside one April morning to find that some of the fallen buds from my neighbour's tree to the left of me had landed on the hood of the car belonging to the neighbour to my right. It caught my eye. I grabbed my camera and voila.. instant blog post!

Isn't it funny where we get inspiration? You have a gift for seeing, and then helping us see, the beauty in the ordinary. Thank you! And congrats to the POTW!

Brilliant photographer, you are...and you know your literary works of art.
Wonderful, my friend!
Hugs,

At first, I thought the blossom was breakfast cereal!
Maybe I need to get a fresh eye test.
The pictures had delicate colouring and it is surprising how a good photo can be made out of tiny things.

You can certainly see things that would make a good photo. My car was covered with green ash blossoms this morning but I never thought of a photo. Nice post.

It reminds me of popcorn, but can't imagine why popcorn would be all over the car, so i return to reality and remind myself they are fallen buds from trees. Such great work with the camera.

Ha! When I saw your photos, at first I thought they were cranberry cereal crumbs on my counter!

Thanks a million for the shout-out. I really appreciate.

I've found so many awesome blogs from your POTW and I'm happy to be included.

They really make a plain old car look ready for the dance! :)

So simple and yet so visually delightful! But you forgot to say "This bud's for you!" (quoting a well-known beer ad).

I guess I fall in the same category as Maggie May, CiCi, Joanna, and Steven. It looks like something really good to eat.

Those buds are pretty until your dog tracks them all over the house! Going to go visit the POTW!

Often the most simple things are the most complex (does that make sense?).

But it takes a true photographer to see such things and capture them on film. You have done that.

Most impressive!

I would love to see life through your eyes sometime. What we all see everyday you take and turn it into a beautiful picture. So good. :)

You could probably compose a photographic ode to a fallen cornflake. :)

Interesting shots--maybe I should shoot a photo of the pollen on my truck!

You find the most wonderful subjects to photograph -- and the prose takes me to a higher level. Thank you for that, Hilary.

I've seen a few of these excellent posts already... now off to read some more POTWs!

it's great to have nice neighbors. My mom's neighbors get upset if leaves from her yard blow into their own! The buds on the car are wonderful reminders of the season upon us! :)
