I stepped outside one April morning to find that some of the fallen buds from my neighbour's tree to the left of me had landed on the hood of the car belonging to the neighbour to my right. It caught my eye. I grabbed my camera and voila.. instant blog post!
"Sunshine steeps your boughs
and tints the buds
and swells the leaves within." ~ William C. Bryant
"Thought is the blossom;
language the bud;
action the fruit behind it." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
"When April winds grew soft,
the maple burst into a flush of scarlet flowers." ~ William Cullen Bryant

Isn't it funny where we get inspiration? You have a gift for seeing, and then helping us see, the beauty in the ordinary. Thank you! And congrats to the POTW!
Brilliant photographer, you are...and you know your literary works of art.
Wonderful, my friend!
Hugs,
Jackie
At first, I thought the blossom was breakfast cereal!
Maybe I need to get a fresh eye test.
The pictures had delicate colouring and it is surprising how a good photo can be made out of tiny things.

some great choices this week hilary...congrats everyone....pretty cool pictures as well...the car makes for a good backdrop to the buds....
Thank you Hilary.
Some excellent focus on these Hilary.
And thanks for the inclusion in the roll call :-)
love your impromptu photo shoot. :)
every one of the potw photog sites are ones i follow and love! :) great taste, hilary!
You never know when inspiration will strike! I'm glad you didn't nip it in the bud...
Lovely images and words, as always! Thanks for the POTW Hilary!
You can certainly see things that would make a good photo. My car was covered with green ash blossoms this morning but I never thought of a photo. Nice post.
It reminds me of popcorn, but can't imagine why popcorn would be all over the car, so i return to reality and remind myself they are fallen buds from trees. Such great work with the camera.
Wonderful images and quotes. All flowed so beautifully together. Thank you so much for the POTW award! Congrats to all the other winners as well. You are so generous, Hilary. :)
thank you sweet girl for this honor...now if you could teach me a few photography dos and don'ts!
hugs
Sandi

I have pollen all over my car!! :-(
Thank you truly, for the POTW, Hilary.
Those beautiful buds are quite the travelers. :)
I just read one of the POTW. You DO know how to pick'em!
Beautiful! And thank you for listing some great blogs.
Ha! When I saw your photos, at first I thought they were cranberry cereal crumbs on my counter!
Thanks a million for the shout-out. I really appreciate.
I've found so many awesome blogs from your POTW and I'm happy to be included.

The buds in your pictures look edible.
They really make a plain old car look ready for the dance! :)
So simple and yet so visually delightful! But you forgot to say "This bud's for you!" (quoting a well-known beer ad).
Those fallen blossoms make lovely art!
Thanks for the Posts of the Week!
Thank you Hilary!
I guess I fall in the same category as Maggie May, CiCi, Joanna, and Steven. It looks like something really good to eat.
Those buds are pretty until your dog tracks them all over the house! Going to go visit the POTW!
Often the most simple things are the most complex (does that make sense?).
But it takes a true photographer to see such things and capture them on film. You have done that.
Most impressive!
I would love to see life through your eyes sometime. What we all see everyday you take and turn it into a beautiful picture. So good. :)
Delightful photos of such an everyday thing. I love the compositions and angles.
I always look forward to your POWs. Good stuff.
Have a wonderful rest of the week Hilary.
How lovely they have falling on the car. It is time to drive off and spread their blossoms.
Your photos prove you never know where your next fun shots will come from!
How beautiful is that. The last picture looked like bacon. ^^
You could probably compose a photographic ode to a fallen cornflake. :)
Interesting shots--maybe I should shoot a photo of the pollen on my truck!
I love the red celebration

You find the most wonderful subjects to photograph -- and the prose takes me to a higher level. Thank you for that, Hilary.
I've seen a few of these excellent posts already... now off to read some more POTWs!
Excellent shots! Words fail me!
Love the focus.
Hilary - thank you for the post of the week recognition. The comments left by your blogging friends have humbled me and encouraged me. I love your images....and I thank you again. SD
You've got a great eye Hillary. Nice photos.
Your photos are just plain amazing. Beautiful.
Thanks for highlighting these posts.

Thanks for highlighting these posts.
it's great to have nice neighbors. My mom's neighbors get upset if leaves from her yard blow into their own! The buds on the car are wonderful reminders of the season upon us! :)
