Tell Me a Story and Posts of the Week

Tell Me A Story

This somewhat unusual photo has a bit of an interesting story behind it. I'll reveal that story to you soon along with some more photos. In the meantime, I'd like to hear your take on what you believe this image might be about. I suspect you'll probably be correct or at least close because you're smart like that. Or you can make it funny, if you prefer - a caption - a quote - anything you like. It's up to you.

I'll be employing comment moderation just for this purpose but I'll publish all comments before the next post. If you don't feel like coming up with what you believe is the story behind this image, that's also fine, of course. I'll be back before you know it with more photos and an explanation of what's happening here.

And now, without further delay, here are the Posts of the Week. The icon below is yours for the taking if if your blog post is named as a POTW.

I'm not going to say because I know at least the "where" and likely the "what."

Interesting shot. :)

Are they salmon, perhaps displaced during a run back to a breeding ground, and the shadow is of someone going down a ladder to get them? You know me - I'm ignorant on more things than I'm aware of, so I'm probably dead wrong.

At first I thought monkey, but then I thought it's someone leaning over feeling sick and getting sick. Explain!

I dunno. Looks fishy to me. But I shouldn't stoop so low.

Congrats to all POTW! Yay Daryl! And I think he is the salmon whisperer.

I'm guessing the photo is a person feeding an animal at the zoo. If I'm wrong then I can't imagine.
Love the photo though!

I haven't a clue. "Man-Seal kills two fish" perhaps? lol
I'm operating here on fumes; maybe after I have a meal, my senses will improve.

I read Leah's POTW with much interest and thought. Thanks!

Oh, I love this photo! Perhaps it's the inner self breaking free...

And thanks for the POTW!

He felt like throwing her over the fence after she drppped the fish on the slippery spillway. He looked at her one last time as she sharpened the fillet knife and thought it better to keep his feelings to himself.

That's a very interesting photograph, but I can't imagine what might be going on. I need to think about it more.

i'm guessing helping fish move up river to spawn!

First of all, it's sad to see those fish lying there, but on a funnier note, the shadow looks like a manfish! A worn out one! :-)

Hmmmm...the photo appears to be the shadow of a male doing some sort of work. Fishing maybe? Very interesting and I love the stonework!

Congrats to the POTW winners! Two of the ladies mentioned are faves of mine. :)

Hmmmm, great shot, Hilary, but I'm really not sure here. Looks like the shadow of someone leaning over the area where the fish(?) are.

I think I remember this photo from a prior post your wrote about these well-known fish. My quote "I told you the fish were radioactive and would make you disappear!"

Hi Cuzzie,

That photo is the original double-edged sword. Look at it one way, and I see the shadow of a man on hands and knees (maybe cleaning another fish?). Look at it the other way, and I see a black dog, with head hidden from view (perhaps eating a fish that's on the floor?).

I'm looking forward to reading other takes on this picture, and to your revelation of the real story!

Love your post choices this week.
My brain is too dull to come up with a quote or caption.
I can't wait to read what others have written.

so that guy is sneaking over the fence that keeps the Canadians outta the USA ...

thanks for the POTW .. much appreciated ...

I'd like to think there's a lost puppy or a stuck turtle or a stranded duckling down beyond that fence and he's climbing over to rescue whatever it is. Sappy, I know. But that is what came to my mind. :)

What you have there is the aquarium and prepping some fish dinners for the killer whales, eh wot? WHAT IS my prize? What do I win, hmm?

Hilary: Could this be someone resting after jogging outdoors?

Someone is climbing over the rail to rescue the last fish in the hatchery. Or, it's the famous Trouts of Lascaux.

Cat-woman running from two fish..........

Dear Hilary, I guess I have to disappoint you and have to state that I am not that smart, as that photo is very confusing to me and sad as well.
Stranded fish, or maybe just discarded? In a canal of some sort? That shadow could be of a person, but then again, it seems almost as reflection of some statue on a fence.
Hmm...
No well, looking forward to a revelation from you.;)
Congratulations to all these lovely places mentioned here.;)
Have a great weekend dear friend.;)))

Looks like a character from horror story. Those dead fish are adding life to scene.

Hey, there, girl! Thanks for the POTW mention! National Poetry Month has brought out my inner lyricist, whom I normally keep locked away in the anals (and I mean that) of my psyche.

I think your pic is the shadow overlooking some sort of reservoir that's dried up or been drained. Or it's Neptune having a chat with two dried-up soles. HEH!

Reena said...

Truly a unique image ... looks like a man leaning over doing something ... at first I thought those were dolphins but now just fish. I'm probably wayyyy off!

He was so frustrated as he found he had forgotten his keys yet again. So no he was relegated to climb over his own locked gate!!

that is one interesting photo Hilary. It's a cat pulling a fish out of water, in shadow? That's my guess.

I'm not really sure...it does look a bit "fishy" to me....

Very interesting photo with lots of layers and textures. Other than a shadow and shark perhaps you did a little photoshop magic on it? I'll be watching to see more.

And, as always, thanks for the great blogs in your POTW. I really appreciate it.
