Bright Spots and Posts of the Week

Last week, Frank's wonderful family got together to reunite with some longtime family friends who were visiting from England. It was a lovely day, and I took some photos which I still have to sort through for family members and friends, but I also snapped a few with my bloggie people in mind.

Kitty
Knowing that there are quite a few animal lovers among you, I thought should share this little sweetie with you. She's a tiny, purry thing under all that fur. Picking her up, she felt like a kitten in my arms but according to her people, she hasn't been a kitten for 21 years! That's a lot of fine, feline living.

callie
This little princess shares her living space with two cats. Callie has been up at the cottage with Benny before. and she tolerates him - for a few moments at a time. She's a sweet, gentle little pooch who very much enjoyed basking in the afternoon sunlight.

spiral lamp
Another bright spot for my camera was this interesting floor lamp. I couldn't resist photographing its spiral pattern. I stared at it without a problem for a while until I got the photo that I wanted, but now that I'm looking at the image, I find it makes me dizzy. Or I might just be tired.

And now, without further delay, here are the
Posts of the Week. The icon below is yours for the taking if if your blog post is named as a POTW.

Thanks for showing such a sweet long-lived cat. You really blessed me with a good feeling about my comparatively "young" kitty!

And thanks for directing us to these cool POTW!
Congrats Winners!

Loved Nezzy's post for sure! Cute critters... Congrats all!

That last image is pretty trippy; I get a little dizzy too, but it's almost like some crazy deep-ocean creature. I like it. Love the doggy shot, too; it is so hard to get a good pic with dappled light: I'm envious!

I am always a little concerned when I visit your POTW lists because I know they will be good and I am afraid I will not have time to get through them all. Of course when I am on the list I am so happy that I make the time to read them all!

Not fond of cats, so I'll refrain from commenting on it.

The dog on the other hand appears to have a unique personality.

The swirl is crazy, the effect is bedazzling.

21 years old is quite a respectable age for any cat, and I have to say she does look good for being a senior citizen ;-)

Thank you Hilary for your POW, going there right now

Gosh, what a venerable old lady this beautiful kitty is! The sweet poochie portrait is absolutely stunning, Hilary, worthy of hanging in a gallery. Great to see some familiar friends listed in here, thanks for the thumbs up.

The lamp does make an interesting (and dizzying) photo, but I'm glad you explained what I was looking at. Thanks kindly for the POTW mention, my sweet friend.

Oh my goodness, you could have knocked me down with a feather when I saw my mention today! COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED, but much appreciated! Congratulations to everyone!
Two lovely ladies here today, and yes, that lamp is quite dizzying.

OHhhh Hilary, thanks so much for the POTW accolades! You surprised me. Actually, I don't really have a clock fetish. It's just that these clocks seemed to accumulate in the house while my husband was around, and it just seems such a shame to ignore them, so I try to keep them dinging and donging and on time as much as possible. After all, they are little works of art. OK, so they were mass produced back when they were new, but there's not many of them left in good working condition, and I feel it's my duty to keep them going! Silly, I know. I feel guilty every time I forget to wind them.

My cat is only two years old so this gives me hope she will live as many years!

I am intrigued with the spiral lamp.

I love the dog, not a cat, but the third is beyond belief, beautiful.

Liz Mays said...

I love that the cat is having such a good long life. The floor lamp is really neat looking!

Karen said...

Such lovely pet photos. I didn't know what that last picture was, until you told me-makes me curious to see the rest of it.

yaya said...

No you're not tired..that lamp is making me dizzy too! The cat had me saying: "are you kidding me? Seriously, 21?" I have a cat...I really don't want a cat...I'm good to my cat..but 21..really?

ds said...

Love the lamp! Twenty-one is a fine age for a cat; she looks as though she has a few more left in her, too...

Calie reminds me of a certain Disney pooch movie! :) I'll check out these new cool bloggers. Thanks Hilary!

Quigley thanks you so much for the POTW ~ he has not been seen since, and it is hoped that he has not been blown away in our fierce winds ... his voluminous trousers may have either hindered or helped during said winds.

Your photos are wonderful ~ the venerable cat looks sweet, and I think Callie is practicing her "Here comes that Bennie again!" expression. Your third photo is hypnotic ... I think it's put me in a trance!

Again, thanks for the POTW and I'll enjoy checking out the other links :)
