Pink is such a soft summery colour! If only Summer would decide to come my way ;-)
pretty in pink...i dont know that i have ever seen pink helicopters like that...lovely pics...we used to have these white and pink poofball flowers on a tree...cant think of what it was off hand...happy sunday hilary!
I have this hunch that pink might be the color of Happiness, and now I'm sure of it! I like those Bleeding Hearts marching together down the stem.
The bleeding hearts and the other flower shot are particularly nice but they're all good. (Bit of a stretch calling watermelon pink, though.) ;)
loved the quotes and the shots !!
The shot with Audrey Hepburn quote below is my favorite!
Mmmm, nice pictures in pink Hilary. I specially like the look of that water melon... - Dave
These are truly beautiful, Hilary.
I especially love the first image..Gorgeous!
What about 'pink to make he boys wink'? Who first said it or why I have no idea but...hang on and I'll ask Google. Seems it is an old saying that went "Pink to make the boys wink, blue to make the girls woo"
Whatever the origin pink cannot be faulted, it is soft, girlie, and a real man looks fab. in pink.
Lovely pics. as ever, Hilary.
Ahh! Pink!! The new color of power!
Such beautiful photographs Hilary!
Sweet!!!
Hugs
SueAnn
Some very peace-inducing pics you've put up.
That 1st one had a big skeeter onder the leaves. Lovely shots.
Funny how we all seem to have color phases in our life. I recall my daughter at one time asking me why everything in my closet was pink. Whew... glad I outgrew that stage in fashion. It looks quite nice on your flowers though. :-)
Di
I don't really like pink.. but after seeing these wonderful shots, I've changed my mind!
Oh how I love all these pictures. They are soothing and refreshing at the same time.
SO beautiful! i've never seen the helicopter seed pods that color either. brilliant!
Lovely post : )
What a feast to my eyes, Hilary. I love them all, but especially the Liszt quote one. That's what I'm trying to learn...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, simply luscious! Now I am craving watermelon..
Pretty in Pink .. I dont think there are many on whom pink is not flattering .. in nature and art ... especially in little girls... my god daughter and the daughters of friends all went through the I only wear pink stage ... now they're true NewYawkers and only wear black.
The dewdrop picture amazed me.
Even my #2 Son loved pink.
I love the deep blue of that dish next to the pink watermelon.
I have gone through different phases of pink, purple, blue, green & turquoise.
I love all those colours. Together or separate!
My granddaughters both started off by loving girly-girl pink but the older one is now quite a tomboy and hates the colour.
Her younger sister obviously still likes pink but goes around telling everyone that she has *gone off* it. After all........ she gets told all the time that it is for girly girl babies!

Nuts in May
I have friends who say they hate pink.....I love them anyway.
Sometimes there are no words of appreciation for you photographs, or none that do it justice at any rate. This is one of those times.
The Olde Bagg
Beautiful! I love me some pink! :)
Stunning. I love the Audrey Hepburn quote. :)
You could almost persuade me to like the colour pink. Yours is a deep pink, the pale, pastel pink will never be a favourite of mine.
Love all things pink!
... simply superior photography, Hilary ... just love looking at your work!
Go Pink! I love it when the little boys in my class say their favorite color is pink and the other kids don't say things like "pink is for girls" and laugh at him. Pink is great. And P!nk is great too. :)
I think Hugh Hefner is still in his blonde phase.
Gorgeous photos here ~
Cracks me up - the quote about Hugh...
love your pink shots... so fun when you go out and shoot "specific" and see the themes you come up with.
A really lovely selection Hilary. I especially love the pink flowers; excellent shots.
The colour is great, the pink is formidable and you have turned it into a fantastic show. The last three were beautiful.
I want to sit at that picnic table.
Oh my, those pictures are to die for! I like pink as accents-my daughter loved all things pink growing up.
These are great - love all the Pink quotes! My favorite is the next to the last - what are those?
Ya gotta love the Miley Cyrus quote. Beautiful images. Favorites include the bleeding hearts and that beautiful cluster of pink flowers, but that fuzzy ball on the long stem, with water droplets...that has its own unique beauty.
wow.
love the bleeding hearts, they are one of my favorites. and the shot just above it is GORGEOUS.
Your images and the quotes you have matched them with have me feeling good through and through. Thank you.
It's good to be back after three days without power or Internet access.
Not much of a pink person myself, but I love the idea of words having their own color and I love the photo of the bud. Those water droplets, that fuzz--amazing.
Thank you.
Beautiful theme, lovely presentations.
I'm a fan of pink ~ and now even more so thanks to your amazing pink pics! Beautiful.
Another superb presentation. Love the photo with the Liszt quote -- great DOF and focus along with those water droplets.
You are magical behind the lens. Truly.
oh yes, PINK = summer!
terrific set of shots!!
i keep repeating myself, but you're far to talented!!
happy week!
betty x
I love pink, and I love this post.
I like pink, but, not as much as I used to. Lovely photos, I especially like the bleeding heats and the emerging poppy.
I have a watermelon in my refrigerator right now. It is lovely. I have tasted it, and it is good.
Only you, my dear, could take a photo of watermelon and have me lusting for yours over my real and present one.

These are all just gorgeous
that little unfurling flower with the rain drops on it.....omg, that is AMAZING !!
Love the bud with the dew drops, especially.
A wonderful pinkish photo essay; love it!

W~O~W
Yep. Very pink. I love the watermelon, probably because I love watermelon, but why not? How ab out, a little belatedly, Herbie Hancock: Watermelon Man ?
Funny, but I was recently reading an article that said at the turn of the century, pink was the color for boys and blue for girls. It gave excerpts from fashion mags of the time &c. saying that pink was the "stronger color" while blue was "more delicate" and better suited for girls. Interesting, I thought.
My wife and I had a bit of an argument over pink as well. My younger son requested his b'day cake be pink and yellow. The Mrs disapproved. I figured it's his b'day, wotthehell?
It didn't hurt that I was the one who would actually bake the cake, but he got his pink cake.
All are great, but the one with the Audrey Hepburn quote is my favorite.
All of which are of PRINT quality. Thanks Hilary for sharing with us.
• Thanks for the visit, Kerri. :)
• Cricket, Watermelon Man works for me. I suspect that just about any colour could be interpreted as male or female depending on culture. And we certainly know that fashion evolves.. though the pink/blue thing has stuck around for a while now. I'm of the same mind as you when it comes to not worrying about gender "roles" when they're still kidlets. Why is it that sons can have stuffed animals or action figures but not dolls? Why encourage/support gun play for boys but not nurturing? It's so silly. Anyway... thanks always for stopping by, my friend. :)
• Sandra, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed them. :)
• Thank you so much Wayne15575, much appreciated. :)
I have never captured a Bleeding heart so I m going to look for one in a few days some place. Im in love with yours
Thank you, Lisa. I hope you find one soon. I have no doubt you'll do a great job capturing it. :)
