Gulls Just Wanna Have Fun

This is a repost from a couple of years ago. I should be back to my regular schedule next post.

Wednesday was the first really warm day of the season. The thermometer reached a sunny 23C (74F) which prompted me to take a walk up to a small man-made lake a few kilometers from home. A pair of seagulls appeared to be dramatizing their young romance solely for my entertainment. Here's their story in pictures.

Once upon a time...

Boy meets gull.

First fight.

Boy loses Gull.

Alone.

Broken-hearted.

Boy drinks to forget.

And gets high.

Gull comes back.

Happily ever after.

Beautiful pictures of a common but too often disregarded bird.

In this case then, I guess gulls would be a two syllable word.

Aww, they live happily ever after, which is great. Anything else would have been gulling.

OK, but when do they get to go to McDonald's and dig around in the trash? On their one-year anniversary?

I love seagulls!

I am so gull-ible.

Do you think they built a cozy little love nest?

Will it truly be happily ever after, or is a lifelong romance strictly for the birds?

Seagulls make good pictures.
I even like the sound of them.

Hi Hilary:
I haven't been checking blogs or making and comments for a while... it's been busy busy around here. Tonight (Saturday 30th) is the final night of being on stage with our local variety show, so once it's over, I'll be posting some pictures of our latest song and dance production.
Love the story you have woven through the gull pix. They are a very misuderstood bird. Noisy scavengers of course, but I have a soft spot for them having lived by the sea as a child, and I took great pleasure in feeding stale bread to the seagulls. They would fly by and take it right out of my hand. I only got my fingers nipped a couple of times. They were very accurate in their aim.
