Lookin' Up
How about a quick walk around the pond? Why quick? Because the squirrels are hungry, of course.
Look up. There's a lone oak leaf still clinging to the branch above us.
Let's leave a couple of peanuts on this tree. Stand back - a squirrel will be along in no time.
Look up there - right on cue. Don't be shy, little guy. We'll let him eat in peace.
As for ourselves, there's always time for Tim Horton's (you might need to be Canadian for that to mean anything to you).

That first one of the oak leaf is terrific. I love the color contrast between the leaf and the sky.
A case of less is more.....the squirrel is a classic.
I have actually been in Tim Hortons, so I do know what you mean.
Around here it's Stewart's....an upstate NY thing......and while it's a part of the landscape, people who don't live here just raise their eyebrows.
A nice stroll. In addition to keeping one's mouth shut looking up, a wide brim hat might be a good thing!

I think Tims should make early morning deliveries right to our doors.
That is funny how the squirrel homed in on the peanuts.My yard has 3 residents that drain my feeders.I put out corn for them but their appetites are terrific.You have a nice trail system to be on.

I so enjoyed our trip in the park. Unfortunately, I didn't keep my mouth closed when looking at the mourning dove, now I've got cream cheese in my mouth. How did that happen?
Brilliant blue hues and clear skies. Whereas we had grey skies and early morning showers... and the sun is trying poke through.
Love watching natures avian and critter behaviour. You just never know what you're going to get.

I left a few peanuts today too, for the first time in quite a while. Only saw one squirrel and it had its hands on its hips and was glaring. I guess it had been TOO long since my last visit....
I'm always pleasantly surprised when I see a Mourning dove from below, esp in flight, because I forget about the delicate blue shading on the underside of their wings. Can glimpse it in your fine photo. :)

My squirrels are the size of small cats this year.
We still have some oak leaves clinging here, but that's not as impressive as one clinging there! And ours aren't nearly as pretty. Love the one of the squirrel! Thanks for taking us on your walk!
The oak leaf, in such sharp detail against the blue sky, is really nice. But I love the little squirrel peeking around the tree at you the best. I would have liked to see a picture of Frank's glaring squirrel, though. :)

• Cricket, I quite enjoyed my walk today (these photos were taken on a different day). I spent two hours wandering around the park system just enjoying the springlike weather. It felt so nice. I'm doing what I always do when you suggest a theme song. I find it in YouTube and play it while I continue responding to comments. I can't say I'm a fan of The Police - I think all of their songs sound alike but the title sure is apropos. I think the squirrels you're seeing are raccoons. ;)

Tim's is primarily Canadian (named after its original owner, a hockey player who was killed in 1974 - ten years after founding the first coffee shop in Hamilton, Ontario) and has a few dozen locations in the U.S. As I understand it, several of those have closed down semi-recently. So they're certainly not as popular as they are here in Canada. :)
