Goosed and Posts of the Week

With all of the attention that the ducks got in the last post, I felt that I should have focused on the geese a bit. After all, they inhabit the same pond as their Millie and the gang. The photo of this beauty was actually taken sometime last year but I thought I'd share it anyway.

What an absolutely superb photo of the goose. They are just incredibly gorgeous, even sitting on the water doing nothing.

Great POTWs, and I'll go check them out. Thanks, as always!

What a nice clear photo of that goose! Will check out your posts of the week.

Oh that duck looks great, even if this cat might do in it's fate.
Yeah cats eat ducks, I know that sucks.
I may stick to mice, as I can eat them twice.
Oh it was a goose? Boy do I feel like a moose.
A cat that's a moose, now that's quite loose.
Wow you have lots of links, giving lots of different winks.
I'll have to take a look and maybe write a book.
Yeah that take to long and I'd do it so wrong.
As I'd rhyme all the way through and for some that just wouldn't do.
So now I go and hope for no more friggin snow!

You must have a 10 gazillion mm zoom to get that close.

Oh, I've been wishing everyone Happy Presidents Pets Day - the day after Presidents Day, as I like to call it. In the US, we love our presidents..... pets. See my blog if you’re in the mood for a good ol' irreverent howl.

Beautiful pic but geese scare the heebie jeebies out of me! I remember them chasing and biting us when we visited them at our local park! They weren't as beautiful as that one however.

These are great! I sure do love your photo. I saw two of these guys on an interstate median today. My heart was in my throat, but it was good to see our old friends back.

Ah, you've been very busy, and very good at it, too!

Oh my gosh, your goose photo is so good. I wouldn't have blinked if you'd told me it was taken by a seasoned professional!

That is a wonderful close-up.....and thank you for all the good posts to read!
Wonderful as always Hilary.

Welcome to Anyes and to Pat (who appears to speak only in rhyme) who both commented for the first time. I'm glad you joined in.

Thank you all very much for your kind and supportive comments - both to me and to the POTW bloggers. You're the nicest visitors on the planet!

Now THAT is a photo of a goose! I love the bill ~ leathery like texture and so smooth. Beady eye, beads on feathers, just so. Canada Geese cause so much frustration with their habits, yet they are such beauties. I've been checking through the links and enjoying the process. Thanks :)

CiCi said...

Goosed? You have such a way with words. I like your sense of humor. Do you see the big smile on this goose? I think the goose likes the attention.
Your recommendations are always a joy to read. Thanks for sharing these posts with us.

I'm behind on my blog hops as usual, but I have read the one by Lady Fi, and know it is well-deserving of the POTW. Gorgeous! Thanks for the list and what a gorgeous shot of the goose!

Cheryl Kohan said...

Wow...It's as though you could touch the water droplets on that goose and you'd actually get wet!

I'm off to read POTW's. Today is a catching up day for me, I hope.
