Tickled Pink

The colour pink, warm and lovely colour that it is, is rather limiting as far as subject matter goes. At least for me. So for this post, there's an abundance of flowers which make up the rosy end of the spectrum (Frank, I know your eyebrows just shot up at "rosy end." Stop it!).

Judging by your kind and supportive comments in the previous post, about inviting a bit of green into our northern hemisphere winter, I doubt you'll object to seeing mostly floral images as you scroll down through the photos. Please remember to click on each of them to enlarge.

"I fell off my pink cloud with a thud."
~ Elizabeth Taylor'

“Almost all words do have color and nothing is more pleasant than to utter a pink word and see someone's eyes light up and know it is a pink word for him or her too” ~ Gladys Taber

"More pink here, if you please."
~ Franz Liszt

"Pink - it's the colour of passion."
~ Aerosmith lyrics from Pink

The Brain: "Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
Pinky: "I think so Brain, but Zero Mostel times anything will still give you Zero Mostel." ~from Pinky and the Brain

“The very pink of perfection.”
~ Oliver Goldsmith

"That last kiss
I'll cherish
Until we meet again"
~ Who Knew? by Pink

"When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown,
The dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb."
~ Pink Floyd lyrics from Comfortably Numb

"We don't have none of this stuff in the boy's room! Wait a minute! We don't got none of this... we don't got doors on the stalls in the boy's room, we don't have, what is this? What's this? We don't have a candy machine in the boy's room! " ~ from Pretty in Pink

And a few fun Inspector Clouseau quotes from The Pink Panther Strikes Again:

"Now then, what do we know? One, that Professor Fassbinder and his daughter have been kidnapped. Two, that someone has kidnapped them. Three, that my hand is on fire."

"A beekeeper who has lost his voice, a cook who thinks he's a gardener, and a witness to a murder. Oh, yes. It is obvious to my trained eye, that there is much more going on here than meets the ear."

"Of course it won't be easy; nothing worthwhile ever is. That is why I have always failed where others have succeeded."

Back in a few days - possibly with another colour.

Favorite picture: bleeding heart
Favorite quote: the first of your 3 from the Pink Panther

Do you read Doves Today? She (g) participates in a weekly Pink Saturday meme, but more importantly, she writes wonderfully and often takes us on tour with her to various places. http://doves2day.blogspot.com/

Your up kinda late aren't you?
Your post was just what the doctor ordered. I needed a bit of beauty and innocence. Such a sad week.
I just about lost it when I saw the sippy cup.
Thank you for sharing your great talent.
You are appreciated.

I loved all the pictures. And I love the color pink!! The Bleeding Heart pic is one of my favs as well. Also the lake pic with the deck chairs. That is awesome!
Thanks for "pinking" up my day!

I love your colour themes. And I have always been a fan of the "Pink Panther".;)
Although the colour pink would e the one I wear the least, it is the most beautiful one found naturally around us; as seen in your beautiful photographs. You know me by now and can guess that my favorite ones here are the one of (what I assume are) the sunsets.
Have a lovely Sunday,

Great magical photos as always! (I have a pink cotton candy post coming up in a few days.) Do you have photos tagged by color or do you just spend hours going through your archives?

The sun isn't quite fully up here but this has already brightened my day. I have to admit, I was very drawn to the quotes, what wonderful text you found to go with your rosy pictures.

It's amazing, some of the flowers looks so perfect that they almost don't look real. I know that they are, I'm just astounded by how gorgeous things look, and so perfect that it's hard to believe they just exist around us (not at this time of the year, but soon again!)

What a lovely, warming collection of photographs. Particularly on a day when I've got a slightly stuffy nose, and the house is slowly coming up to "everyone is awake" temperature.

Just made me think of the power of images to set a mood. It could be spring in here, right now.

As always, thank you Hilary :-) I know I do gush on, but it is entirely sincere. What a lovely thing you did for everyone reading your blog today.

Pink is the color of sweetness and purity, which is why I wear it rarely; however, whenever I do, people always say it's my color. The world works in mysterious ways.

I have a picture somewhere from a river trip, the pink river reflecting the pink sky.

Pinky and the Brain is one of my all time favorites. Never attracted much of an audience though. I love when someone references it.

I love them all and so love the colour pink, which wasn't a colour until the late 17th century when it was 'a pale red'.

So nice to see such beauty on another grey day.

Ha! Love those quotes. I'd've paid serious money to hear Peter Sellers read from the collected works of my guru, Yogi Berra.

And I will demonstrate my maturity by refusing to say anything about pink and naughty bits.

You're very welcome. ;)

(Lovely pics too.)

• KC, thanks for the link. I hadn't seen this blog before. I'll keep an eye on it now. :)

• Amy, I'm glad you're enjoying the colour theme. I have a few more shades up my sleeve. :)

• Grayquill, how do you know I hadn't just scheduled that post? ;) I hadn't, actually. I was indeed up late. I'm glad I could bring you some smiles amid such a heavy heart-filled week. That sippy cup was in the frozen lake.. too far to reach except for with my lens. Thanks for your kind words. :)

• Thanks, Jinsky. I'm glad you enjoyed them. Peter Sellers was such a funny man. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• SueAnn, I'm glad that my photos could put you in the pink. Thanks for your always-kind words. :)

• Doc, thanks for stopping by. :)

• Zuzana, thanks. Who could resist the Pink Panther, eh? I don't wear a lot of pink either, though I used to. Maybe I need to brighten my wardrobe a bit. Thanks for the kind words, my dear friend. :)

• Tabor, I saw your wonderful photos and I hope folks will click on your name to see them too. I don't tag them by colour but I keep all of my blogged photos in one folder (where they're also available as desktop images). From there I just select all of them and browse through them in a viewer which shows 20 of them at a time. I just select the ones that work with my theme. Thanks for your always-kind words. :)

• Shimp, thank you so much. I admit I had fun trying to find suitable quotes. When I ran out of those which mentioned the colour pink, I turned to movies and artists with pink in those names. Thanks very much for the kind words. I'm glad the photos could warm you on a cool morning. :)

• Thank you, Alix. :)

• Thanks, Daryl. :)

• Maggie, thank you. That cup was sitting out on the frozen pond just waiting to be photographed. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• FL, I feel the same way about red. Not the reasoning behind it but I just don't especially care for it, yet I'm told it's me. Go figure. Thanks for the visit. :)

• Ellen, I'd love to see that photo sometimes. Pinky and the Brain offered some hilarious lines. I'm glad you enjoyed that inclusion. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Thanks, MPM. Benny never let that ball last for very long. It soon deflated under the weight of his tenacious little jaws with a satisfying "Whoomph." :)

• Thanks kindly, Moannie. I had no idea that it didn't exist as a colour until then. Thanks for that info and for your warm words. :)

• PHST, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed them. :)

• UR, thanks kindly. Much appreciated. :)

• Brian, I'm glad you like them. I find pink to be peaceful too. Thanks kindly for stopping by. :)

• Bach, thank you. They quite make me smile too.

• Thanks, Frank. And I'm glad you exercised your (cough) maturity (cough). You were quite (cough) dignified (cough). I must be coming down with something. ;)

• Joanna, thanks kindly. I'm glad you enjoyed them. :)

• DS, I'm pleased that you enjoyed both the green and pink collections. Doesn't Clouseau just crack you up? "Zat iz what I've been saying all along, you idziot - do you have a foen in your roem?" :)

• Tammie Lee, I'm glad I touched on a colour that you love. Thanks so much for stopping by. :)

• Susie, thank you. I'm pleased that you enjoyed them. :)

• Aloha, Cloudia. Thanks so much. :)

• Jo, you could probably pass for a rock star! These were always Adirondack chairs to me, too until I moved to Ontario where they're mostly called Muskoka chairs. I would have thought they'd have a different west coast name. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Thank you, Sandy. I'm glad I could brighten your day as you so often do mine. Thanks for the visit. :)

• LWK, I'm glad you like the post and that it has made you feel hopeful for spring. It won't be too much longer now.. I hope. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Louis, merci. I'm udderly thrilled that you liked this post. Thanks for the visit. :)

• Shrinky, thanks so much. I'm always glad when you can join me on one of my strolls. I'm happy you enjoyed the pink adventure. :)

• Kerri, thank you. :)

• Leah, I'm so glad you enjoyed the photos and that Pinky and the Brain gave you a smile. I probably spent far too much time in their quotes page deciding on just one. :)

• Jane, that's been a long time favourite of mine too. I'm so glad you like it. Thanks very much for your always-kind words. :)

Pink is my favorite color and it was a pleasure to wander through your post and looke at the range of the color pink. My personal favorite is a salmon pink. I'm looking out at white, brown with a touch of green in the cedar and pine trees. This post was just the antidote to a lack of color.

I'm so glad I finally made it over here. I have always appreciated your comments to mutual blog friends' posts, and I always promised myself I'd come visit your site. Your comments are always so witty, profound and elegant.

Here I am (better late than never) and utterly enjoying it. I haven't peroused much, but so far I'm thrilled. The images are stunning, are they all yours? The chairs on the quiet deck overlooking the pink pond/lake/river (?) is my favorite.
Also, I wanted to tell you about that strange green insect you saved on the boat, in Italy we call it CIMICE (word also used to describe hidden microphone 'bugs'). In English I think they're called bedbugs. Best known for their powerful defense mechanism: when threatened, they release a potent foul smell. Hence the nickname PUZZOLA (skunk).

After this entomology dissertation, you'll probably never come visit me at my photoblog or my epicurean food kitchen... Darn, should kept my mouth shut.

Ciao
Eleonora

• Jingle thank you. Cute is good. Being acknowledged as cute is better. Finding a new visitor to my blog is best. ;) Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Paul, thanks very much for the kind words. And welcome to my blog. :)

• Beth, thank you. And just think of all that colour waiting to erupt.. before tooooo long, hopefully. Thanks for the visit. :)

• Barry, thanks very kindly. I sure do appreciate that compliment. :)

• Crabby, I'm glad my photos could add a bit of colour to your gray day. :)

• JarieLyn, thank you for the kind words. But that header.. it's been there since day one. I've never changed it .. yet. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Carmi, it's nice to see you stop by. Thank you so much for the kind comment. It's so true. There's much to be found right under our noses. I think I'll head out as soon as I'm done here. Thanks for the visit. :)

• Nancy, I'm glad that my pinks brought some colour into your day - and especially since it's your favourite hue. I needed these colours too. It's been a pretty blah winter so far. Not even very much snow, so the archives have been calling me. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Karen, I'm glad you like these posts. And sure, you can suggest colours but I'm going to run into trouble if you say "puce" or "taupe." ;)

• Rain, I see you've met Frank. ;) And yes, your recent PEI skies sure would fit the pink bill. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Sue, I'm glad these were a day-brightener for you. Thanks for the always-kind words. :)

• Reb, Pink Panther lines always crack me up. I'm glad you enjoyed the post. :)

• Cricket, merci bien pour le quotation de Mlle Piaf. C'est tres vrai. Spring flowers are indeed more beautiful.. at least more treasured in winter. And I'm glad I have my Montreal background to help me with your comment. Failing that, I'd have had to rely on Google translators. ;)

• Thanks kindly, Wendy. I never know what I'm going to find on the surface of that frozen pond. It's in the center of a large residential area so there's often something of interest to be seen. Thanks so much for the kind words. :)

• Tattytiara, I'm glad you enjoyed the post. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• LadyFi, thanks kindly. It pleases me to know you enjoyed the photo. :)

• MJ, that sounds like a good idea. I'll bet you could organize that and get lots of participants. I'm bad at joining things like that but I sure do enjoy seeing them. Go for it. :)

• Terrie, thanks for stopping by. :)

• Eleonora, welcome! "Witty, profound, elegant"? Are you sure you're not confusing me with the other Hilary? :) I'm glad you decided to stop by. The photos are indeed all mine. Thanks for the info on the green insect. I have since looked it up and that is indeed what others' call a "stink bug" here. I'm SO glad we didn't try to touch it with anything but the oar. And of course I'll be happy to visit your blog soon. Thanks for stopping by. I'm so glad that you did. :)

Whoops. Vague typing on my part. Not, to my knowledge, a quotation. Just a sentiment and, of course, my mental soundtrack.

I do hear Edith Piaf singing La Vie En Rose, though. Preferably a 78 heard though a radio with less-than-perfect reception. For some reason, I prefer noisy recordings sometimes.

I suspected a bit of French would not throw a Canadian off too much.

• Ah, Cricket, of course. So sorry. I was thinking it was a quote from your mental soundtrack and not your own comment en français. I apologize for that. I can hear the crackles and sway in the music too. Maybe even the occasional skip. Thanks for coming back to clear that up for me. :)

• TSannie, thanks. I haven't watched one in a long time either. Perhaps it's time. :)

• Ethelmae, it's a ball - about the size of a soccer ball but the pattern screams Easter egg, doesn't it? :) No need to pick a favourite. I'm just glad you're enjoying them. Thanks for the visit. :)
