I know that on my last post there was a bit of confusion about the images. I should have been more clear, since I know how easy it is to skim over a post, collect a few words and come to a conclusion. Those image were not of our new place. Neither are these. I was having a few issues getting Frank's computer to welcome my camera as one of its own. I've since learned a bit of a workaround but it will take some time to go through them all and process some for you. I hope to do that before too much longer. Until then, I hope you enjoy this post.
Deep in their roots all flowers keep the light.
~ Theodore Roethke
I can't possible go through summer and not do a post or three just about flowers. This is going to be one of them.
Nightshade is an interesting plant. Along with their tiny purple blossoms...
They produce little clusters of berries. They turn bright red, eventually but these are still green.
The new growth of this leafy plant evolves from soft purple to pink, red and finally green.
While on the topic of purple flowers, thistles always catch my eye. They remind me of a prehistoric plant.
These purple bell-shaped blooms appear to be ringing out their tune as they sway in the wind.
This near-empty dandelion head stands alongside the creek. The background might look likes its seeds carried by the wind but really it's just foamy bubbles in the water.
Wild chicory are among my favourite blooms in summer.
This simple orchid plant bloomed in Frank's care. We weren't even sure what the plant was - he had inherited it from a friend.
I hope the flowers brightened your day. More photos coming up soon.

These images are you at your best. It's like a two year retro.
If Frank's computer is acting up already. Are you sure you wouldn't be better over hear?
There's a world of wonder in your photography. Favorites here are the Nightshade (We have some here, but I didn't know it's name.), the thistle, and the lovely orchid flower. I hope that one moves with you to your new home.
The light in those pictures is just amazing. So beautiful. So pure looking.
You are amazing. What gorgeous photos!
How beautiful these are, Hilary!
You have captured such wonderful light in each of them.
i love your images, no matter flowers, weeds, critters... :) no matter where you take them, too. :)

They truly make me happy, thank you. :)

They certainly did brighten my day. And I look forward to more! :-)
They are all so beautiful, but I love the thistle, too...wildly lovely, don't you agree? And the Dandy Lion...a fairy tale of a wild flower if ever there was one! I love your camera...and the talent that drives it

The picture of the dandelion does look like someone blew and made a wish on it.

You certainly are aware of the light and exactly how to use it, Hilary.
What a gifted photographer you are.
I learn so much from looking at your work. That also makes you a wonderful teacher...
these are wonderful ... you are becoming an amazing photographer
They did a lot for my evening, after a very long, tough day, so thank you.
Fantastic lighting in the shots.
Your photography gets better and better. You challenge me to see things differently.
Beautiful images. You are indeed a very skilled photographer.
Your shots are full of wonder and beauty!
Lovely catches, I enjoy back lighting blooms
I love nightshade! And I have always though thistles beautiful.
They are all wonderful shots. Your results really are great art works with such great design. I have missed your posts lately and will have to catch up on them.
As always, lovely!
These are gorgeous! Good for you for getting the computer to talk to the camera. Technology so often throws curves...for which there are no answers. It's great to see these summer images.
Delightful, as always. And, yes, all flowers keep the light. More specifically, they keep what they need, and ignore the rest. (If I remember my biology.)
Blessings and Bear hugs!

You have posted some more great photos Hilary. They gave me the feeling that I was actually there and had the flowers just a few inches in front of me. Well done!
The nightshade berries do look a lot like what was growing near my tree, but the stems on mine were quite pale. The berries, whatever they were, are now gone; they must be good squirrel food.

That top photo is ... well ... tops.
Simply love the Make A Wish photo.
Hope things settle down soon for you and the computer cooperates.
Beautiful images you have there.
Tantalizing, delightful blossoms. I knew you were having camera/computer issues or something. Still hope to see new place pics pretty soon, but I know you are still traveling back and forth. Hope all the problems get resolved soon. :)
I really like the cluster of nightshade berries.
Beautiful shots! Love the light and the shallow depth of focus.
Your photographs were wonderful. I enjoyed the quote from Theodore Roethke. I had never read it before. You have a beautiful orchid. What a nice surprise to have a foliage plant turn out to be an orchid.
I just became your newest follower.

thanks for brightening my day!

I think we might also have those purple bell-shaped blooms. I'm behind in sharing photos, too, so I'm happy to see yours.
