A Floral Arrangement
I have flowers to share...
For openers, a view of a globeflower in my neighbour's garden.
My Croton stays indoors all winter but enjoys the outdoor weather in summer. It had just been rained upon.
The first Iris to bloom in my garden this year. I had a grand total of two. On the same stalk.
A solitary rose hip left over from last year's climbing roses. The blooms are profuse this year. I'll have photos somewhere down the blogging road.
Daisies growing along the edge of my yard. That's the driveway you see behind them.
And a closing shot of another Globeflower.

Globeflower is really Illium and its a relative of the onion!
Beautiful collection. Flowers always make a yard look nice. When my middle son was young, he took a plastic baseball bat to all the Illium in the yard! Nature's own t-ball.
I love photographing flowers. They hold still for me whereas birds, bugs and bees do not. :-) Your irises, although few, are wonderful. The deep purple really shows off the 'showy nature' of the flower.

Beautiful, all. My iris is just beginning to bloom--this looks like a good year for it (I've one other, but it hasn't bloomed in a couple of years. Time for relocation, probably.)

Thanks for sharing the iris image. My mom had a row of them growing up and they always remind me of good times when she was alive.
That first shot was...well lets just say...it would be hard to beat. You did really good.

Globeflower, is that the same as allium? I have hundreds, self-seeded after an initial purchase of a couple of dozen.

Thanks everyone.. for the kind comments and for letting me know the true name of the globeflower. I didn't know that. And for those of you bemoaning the lack of a macro lens, I don't have one either. I shoot those pics with what I call faux macraux.. I use my zoom lens from a distance. Same effect.. ish. :)
