A Floral Arrangement

I have flowers to share...

globeflower2
For openers, a view of a globeflower in my neighbour's garden.

croton
My Croton stays indoors all winter but enjoys the outdoor weather in summer. It had just been rained upon.

another iris
The first Iris to bloom in my garden this year. I had a grand total of two. On the same stalk.

a hip
A solitary rose hip left over from last year's climbing roses. The blooms are profuse this year. I'll have photos somewhere down the blogging road.

daisiesbest
Daisies growing along the edge of my yard. That's the driveway you see behind them.

globe flower
And a closing shot of another Globeflower.

More photos coming up soon if the Blogger scheduler will oblige.

I'm in love with all these shots! Such marvels of beauty.

Globeflower is really Illium and its a relative of the onion!

Beautiful collection. Flowers always make a yard look nice. When my middle son was young, he took a plastic baseball bat to all the Illium in the yard! Nature's own t-ball.

I love photographing flowers. They hold still for me whereas birds, bugs and bees do not. :-) Your irises, although few, are wonderful. The deep purple really shows off the 'showy nature' of the flower.

Beautiful. I really need to get myself a macro lens so that I can also capture the beauty of flowers!

Your macros always take my breath away. I love the lone rose hip especially. And the depth of field on the globe flowers is striking.

What beautiful shots... love the colors and the use of light... they are all beautiful... yet one in particular made my heart beat a little faster and made me breathe in... the black iris... it is the national flower of Jordan... thank you for sharing...

It's so fun see your flowers and plants coming alive ... whereas some of our spring flowers are already gone .. like the irises. Beautiful photos!

These are some of my favorites of yours I think! If you hadn't told me that was a driveway behind the daisies, I would have thought it was the moon somehow. Really amazing Hilary.

That globeflower reminds me of allium. Are they the same? Beautiful photos, all! What a wonderful collection. Hope you will post more soon.

Visiting from Tabor's blog (I thought your comment was perfect. If you're like me you'll think to yourself 'What? What comment was that?')

Anyway, I am always up for some wonderful photos and here you have them in spades! Lovely.

I must take a photo of my nascent grapefruit tree so you can laugh at my pitiful photography (but still admire my optimism at trying to grow a grapefruit tree.) If you're kind, I may also show you my watermelon.

Beautiful, all. My iris is just beginning to bloom--this looks like a good year for it (I've one other, but it hasn't bloomed in a couple of years. Time for relocation, probably.)

Thanks for sharing the iris image. My mom had a row of them growing up and they always remind me of good times when she was alive.

Nice!
Lovely detail too. I like those globeflowers (lilium) (or should that be lilii?) there's a house near here with loads in the garden, very impressive sight, shame they don't last all summer.

Magnificent shots!

Our rose always ends up with hips left over too ; )

Globeflower, is that the same as allium? I have hundreds, self-seeded after an initial purchase of a couple of dozen.

Wow!!! Spectacular!

Thanks everyone.. for the kind comments and for letting me know the true name of the globeflower. I didn't know that. And for those of you bemoaning the lack of a macro lens, I don't have one either. I shoot those pics with what I call faux macraux.. I use my zoom lens from a distance. Same effect.. ish. :)
