People Watching

The mish-mash of weather we've been having - anywhere from cooler than classic spring to ultra-warm summer-like days has brought all sorts of people out of the woodwork. Here are a few of the younger variety which I've encountered on various walks.

cutie watching gulls
This little sweetie was enjoying the gulls as they flew overhead.

cutie peekaboo
And the ducks and geese which were wandering close to the dock in hopes of a handout.

cute boy
Her brother was a bit less active but every bit as cute. He enjoyed peeling the bark off of this stick.

kidlets peering
These two were also interested in what was happening in the water beneath them.

fishing boy
And he was hoping to connect with one of those creatures underwater.

pretty in pink
She looked pretty in pink as she jogged by - her pony tail matching her hoodie. When my son's girlfriend saw this photo, she realized the girl was someone she knew.

trouble in a tree
I refer to this little group as "Trouble in a Tree." It was the first warmish day of the year and they found their favourite limb on which to hang out and share a bottle.

dam trouble
Here's even more trouble. That water is cold and deep.

the end copy
Frank spotted this little girl on a walking trail behind us. And so, for another few days, this is The End.

So many wonderful photos in this post. (Of course, that's no surprise.) Loved the first one, with the adorable little girl excitedly watching the gulls, and the last one, with the little "plumber's crack." So cute.

Wishing you a blessed Passover, my friend.

Your previous post, Golden Drop of Sun, has been usurped by the Golden Drop of Moon ;) Lovely to see children of all ages out enjoying the spring weather...

I love all your photography, Hilary, but I am particulary fond of your people and animal candid portraits, and what a fine collection you have for us here. "Trouble in a Tree" is a wonderful shot, made me smile (perhaps you should forward copies on to their parents..)!

haha a plummer in the making...smiles....and yeah trouble...lol...i might have been in both of those groups at some point though...

Too many easy jokes to count, and all rather silly, so i will refrain.

Thanks for the smiles!

The third photo does look like my grandchildren, although my boy is older. Lovely captures. You could be a portrait photographer!

Your shots of people are as delightful as your nature photos! I see The End every day at school - I hope the trend for low slung pants ends soon!

As my grandmother would say, "Get outside and blow the stink off ya!" Beautiful capture of spring.

They are all great, but 'the end' takes the cake.

love your "every day" people shots. I especially like the "trouble in a tree". Having worked with teenagers for 20 something years....I can almost feel the energy from here.
I love what you do and how you do it. Oma Linda

Oh! Oh! Oh! I loved them all, too. And your last one not only put a smile on my face, but gave me a laugh-out-loud moment. Happy Easter to you, Hilary! You always lift my spirits. :-)

This is a cute post with lots of cute children. I hope you have/had a happy and blessed Easter.

Ha! Yes that was definitely "the end!" When John spots pictures before I do I'm always grateful, but a tiny bit annoyed!

Oh man your first shot is absolutely fabulous.

Kids present candid moments for awesome shots. However you still have to work for it and you did.

Do you think that little girl in the end picture is going to grow up to be a plumber?

Mimi said...

ha ha, "this is the end"!!
I love the young ones hanging out in the tree, even though it could turn to trouble at any time!
And the pink jogger, oh I'd love to have the courage to do that to my hair!
Great people pics, Hilary!

The little Moon is perfect! Looks like spring there.

Those kiddos in the first pics are really adorable! Great shots and I laughed when I saw trouble in a tree. We had a little wooded area where I grew up that we called "Witches Willow"..and that's where the big kids would do the "trouble in the tree" thing! Brought back memories for me! Thanks!

That first little girl, especially, is adorable.

Fun photos Hilary. We enjoy people watching where we go as well. The fishing photos reminded me that our older son will soon be digging his fishing equipment out of the shed and dreaming of the big catch.

Delightful nods to spring! :-)

Weather has been just as April-like here. Summery and then down to a few snowflakes on Easter Sunday morning. Sunny and warming up again now. Hope the same for you! :-)

Cute photos. People watching can certainly be interesting.

Cute pictures, the trouble in a tree looks very inviting.

Let's hope that trouble in a tree stays nice and tame! I think about that when we see teenagers meander through the park behind our house (where our youngest likes to play). The very first portrait is stunning!

I am now going to repeat my mantra:
I will not beg for a granddaughter. I will not beg for a granddaughter. I will not beg for a granddaughter.

So much fun. I love how you notice things and the last one was just too funny!

SandyCarlson said...

You have me smiling. Thanks for sharing these people.

Hilary said...

Thanks so much, everyone. As always, your kind words mean the world to me. :)

All I could think of was a plumbers butt crack showing; perhaps the little girl is destined to be a future plumber.

Great street/candid photography!

Great photos (as usual) Hilary. There is a warmth to every shot. And thanks for the smiles too.
