Roy G. Biv

It's been overcast and rainy here for the past few days. We've not seen the sun in a while and though it would be nice if it would break through the occasional shower, I've not had the opportunity to see what might be the resulting rainbow.

So I figured I'd create my own.

Red*

Orange*

Yellow

Green

Blue*

Indigo

Violet
***Some of these colours have been enhanced to help represent the intended hue.

I do like your photography. I came to thank you for the post you made and named the dog with three legs, "Tripod." I wonder if that could possibly be her name?

hey, you got all these great shots around your house? yippee!
I am always happy, btw, when Canada keeps its crummy weather to itself rather than blowing it across into New York...

Gorgeous photos, as always. And you used one of my favorites - purple....Peace - D

I love the color enhancement disclaimer!

Here's another one, just so you don't get sued:

Warning, these photos are so gorgeous you may linger at this website and fail to get work done. Caution should be exercised when viewing this blog entry.

Love your version of the rainbow almost as much as the real thing!!!
Especially yellow and purple, or, in my house, awww and oooh!

Such a wonderful way to see a rainbow ...

Works for me. Nicely done. :)

Is it just me, or did anyone else get turned on from that last shot?

("It was just you Frank, you perv.")

• Thanks, Abe. There used to be a friendly little cat who lived around the corner from me. She too hobbled on just three legs. I had no idea what her real name might have been, but she was Tripod to me. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Thanks, GR. They're from around my place and Frank's. Crummy weather? Us? Nah.. it's a warm 31C(88F) with a humidex of 40C(104F) at the moment. What could be better than that? I'll fan some your way.. ;) Thanks for the visit. :)

• Thanks, Momma. Purple is one of my favourites too. No rainbow is complete without it. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Aww thanks, Crabby. Now I'm blushing in a colour which is as red as that enhanced robin's breast. ;)

• Thanks so much, Leah. :)

• Thank you, Baggie. I "awwwed" when I saw that little gosling too. He was just sitting up on the ledge, preening and cleaning, while Mom and Dad looked on. He was the only offspring and by the next day, he was no longer around either. I hate to think of what happened.. so I won't. Seems like that last shot evoked an "oooh" in Frank too. ;)

• Thanks muchly, Daryl. :)

• Thanks, Frank. You can answer you own comment questions anytime. I'll just smile and nod.. as usual. ;)

Roy G. Biv? I know that guy! He sells tires and stuff up in Waco...mostly stuff.

Beautiful pics, Hil.

Oh, and I agree with Frank. That last shot was very Georgia O'Keefish. :P

Wow! Those were much better than a rainbow! Bravo!

Such a beautiful rainbow Hilary! I agree with Sis about the awww & oooh!

Those are awesome. Love those ducks!!

Oh Wow!!

Violet is the most stunning photo. And yellow made me feel squishy inside :)

puppy post was great, he has such a personality.

Those are wonderful. The color enhancement gives them a slightly surreal quality. I'm already bookmarking this so I can show it to my kids.

Oh I love the ducks! I guess this home-made rainbow is a metaphor for beauty being all around us if we just go and look for it.

The red, orange and blue photos are my favorites. Sorry about the dreary weather. It was sunny here today but 98 degrees late this afternoon...it's going to be a hot summer!

You are too clever by half, my dear! A delightfuland beautiful post. Roy G. Biv is the proper order, I know, but I can never think of (not actually see) a rainbow without hearing the voice of Peggy Lee whose musical version was "Red and yellow and pink and green, purple and orange and blue; I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, too.":

• Thanks, Christopha. I know that whacko from Waco.. he's a colourful guy. ;)

• Thanks so much, Kathryn. :)

• Thanks, Reb. The Ohhh and Awww thing must be genetic.. you and Baggie are like the Awwwsmond Sisters. ;)

• Thanks, TKWI. They sat so nicely for me. :)

• Thanks very much, Dianne. That little gosling got to me too. And yes, Benny has more personality than a puppy his size should be able to handle. Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Thanks, Clowncar. I hope your kids like them too. Thanks for the visit.

• Thanks, GBS. What a nice way to interpret what was really "how in the heck am I going to tie these pics in together?" I like your theme better! ;)

• Thanks, Steviewren. Those were the three that were colour-treated. It turned hot and sunny here on Friday. My kind of weather! Thanks for stopping by. :)

• Thanks so much, Photowannabe. Much appreciated. :)

• Thanks, Kerri. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The gosling sure was a cutie. :)

• Thanks so much for the kind words, Pat. I almost used that song for this post because I had an image which I wanted to use for Pink, but decided to go with Roy after all. I heard the song in my head the full time too, only I wasn't thinking Peggy Lee, but a child's voice from an old Jell-o commercial. :)

Okay! I had forgotten Roy G. Biv!!

This post made me feel good, just scrolling through the images was a pleasure.

Thanks for bringing a bit of color to my otherwise colorless day today!! Out here in Iowa it is continues to rain, rain and rain. This morning we had an awful storm and this past week, including last night, was full of tornadoes and storms.

Your post took me away from the rain for a bit and that was nice.

Oh I love-love what you did with these photos! Your photos are, as always, so beautiful...the range in these is eye-candy, I can't pick a favorite...fuzzy duckie, the ferns, that swatch of indigo...just lovely.

Lovely. The last is particularly sexy, considering it's a flower :-)

Oh Hilary... these are absolutely fantastic. Creating your own rainbow put a smile on my face. You didn't by any chance create the pot of gold to go with this amazing rainbow, did you? =)

• Thanks, Jo. Your comments always make me feel great-great! ;)

• Thank you, Suldog. I'll nudge you, Frank and Christopha if I ever photograph an orchid close up. :P :)

• Thanks, Leau. And welcome! :)

• Shhhh Baggie. It just means that I'm older. ;) (Thanks!)

• Thanks Jenn. Much appreciated. :)

• Thanks, Michelle. I'm glad it evoked a smile. What a brilliant idea! I wish I had thought of the pot of gold. You're too clever. Thanks for stopping by. :)
