Wee-Ooo, Wee-Ooo (I Thought You Were My Friend)
It's still my hope that Benny, Frank's Jack Russell Terrier and my cat Skittles will learn to get along one day. It's not that Benny doesn't like him - he just wants to play! It's not that Skitty is afraid of him - he just wants him to go away! Now!Do you think they have a hope of ever getting along?
If you can't open a Quicktime movie, you can see an even poorer quality of this clip on YouTube.

Well they do seem captivated with each other! I love how Skitty looks so dryly unamused on that step while Benny waves his bottom in the air LOL!
Benny seems eternal optimistic that someday he'll have a playmate and Skitty seems to say "not"
Oh, that's great! Thanks for the chuckle at the end of a long day. I'll go to bed with a smile on my face and have sweet dreams of Skitty and Benny.
• Hi, Jo and Photowannabe. Yup, you've each captured the essence of Skitty and Benny in your comments. Thanks for stopping by. :)
• Hi, Gawilli. I'm glad they could send you off to sleep with a smile and a chuckle. :)
G'day from Australia,
You love wordplay and puns? Then, hey, we're practically related.
You live in a beautiful province. I spent time there in 2005 photographing parts of the country for the Canadian Tourism Commission - and my next novel is partially set in Muskoka.
Shhhhh - don;t let George W. know about this post - or he might launch a war on terrier!
Welcome, David. A quick glance at your own post titles gave me a few chuckles. I've bookmarked and will return.
In the meantime, I'm not too worried about George W. and the JRT - Benny has a way of wee-oooing people over. He's our weapon of mass seduction. ;)
Thanks for stopping by.
Aw. Poor Benny needs a canine friend! I loved the background music. Too funny, girl.
Thanks, Tink! But don't go giving Benny any ideas. He's got my two cats, and his best-next-door-neighbour-canine-friend Raven to play with when he's here on weekends, and an African Grey parrot to torment at home. Thanks for stopping by. :)
I can see the thaw happening in their relationship. It's subtle, like my drooling leer, but it's there. I'm thinking six years...maybe seven...no more than nine - they'll be cuddling like litter mates. :)
Very funny video Hil and I loved the tune! On the stair, it kind of looked like Skittles was enjoying his power to keep Benny at bay.
Sigh. Some day soon, gettin' high-speed, some day so-o-on...
The Bag Lady is sure the video is hilarious. The Bag Lady is suffering from high speed envy. The Bag Lady is also having 'puter troubles - it seems to be "slow day". Have to start turning it off and on again, in the hopes that it will get dizzy enough to smarten up!
* Yes, Frank but you're also figuring that Skitty will have died of old age by then.
Now wipe your chin.
* Thanks, Reb. You're absolutely right about Skitty.
* Baggie, hopefully one day you'll join the high-speed world. Do you think it would help if I sent you the video directly by mail?
Poor Benny, he just doesn't get it!! But he keeps on trying, it's sort of like Dogs are from Mars, Cats are from Venus.... hmmmm, I don't think that's quite the right quote....
Hey, Ex-Shammickite, the correct quote is.. "Women are from Venus, Men are Wrong!" ;) Thanks for stopping by. :)
That was so cute!
I love the way skitty was posing so provocatively too--"play with me, don't play with me... c'mere, nah go away..." I think you got the essence of catness totally captured.
So sweet and so familiar (we got out dog after the cats). I give Skittles points for using so much restraint on those cat punches and Benny gets points for not keeping his nose up Skittles behind. Come next winter they'll be sleeping next to each other for warmth, best of friends.
• Thanks, Crabby. Skittles is indeed all cat. You should see the look of utter disdain he give Benny when he watches him play fetch with his toys. "Stupid, STUPID dog. Where's your dignity?"
• I hope you're right, Kappa. Part of Skitty's restraint is his lack of front claws - which is also partly responsible for Benny's tenacity. Thanks for stopping by. :)
haha....they are the cutest! :) i wish i had a houseful of pets...some day!!!!!
Thanks, Moi. Actually they're from two houses, really. I have two cats, and Frank visits with Benny the goofy JRT. :)
